Good afternoon,

First off, please forgive my ignorance if this question has been asked before, or if the answer is obvious.

Anyway, we have just received confirmation that my partner (Thai) has been granted a subclass 600 visitor visa.

This will be her 4th such visa granted during the past 20 months and it would appear that the terms are different from the previous 3 visas.

Whereas the previous visas had a single entry stipulation and an 8503 (no stay) condition, the latest visa does not appear to have these restrictions.

The first 3 visas had an arrival in Australia requirement of 3 months after the grant date, whilst the latest visa has a arrival requirement, "No later that 24th May 2018" (12 months after the grant date) and a stay period of "3 month(s) from the date of each arrival"

So does this mean that my partner is allowed to enter (for a maximum of 3 months) and leave Australia as many times as she likes until 24th May 2018...........or for 12 months after her first date of entry on this visa............or am I well wide of the mark with this assumption.

Also, without the no stay condition, does that mean we can apply for a partner visa and even a subsequent visitor visa whilst my partner is still in Australia.

Many thanks in advance

It appears they have a 12 month multiple entry visa with a maximum stay of 3 months each visit. Which means they can enter and stay in Australia for as many times as they like until  24th May 2018 for a maximum period of 3 months each time.

If you time it right and enter just before the 24th May 2018 they can in theory stay until 24th August 2018, so almost 15mths in total.

As you don't have the 8503 condition, it gives them the option of applying for a different visa while in Australia ie. a partner visa and thus getting a bridging visa until the decision is made. Which means they can remain in Australia until the decision is made.
