I plan to upgrade my existing Bose speakers connected to my PC, after looking around i am keen on the Kef X300A.

Just checking if anyone knows a big Hi-Fi shop in Bangkok who have these items on display and also perhaps other brands, they are available from Lazada but i would like to have a look around a big store before i make my final decision.

Thanks for the links, its the non wireless ones i am after. The beauty of these models is everything is inside the speaker including a DAC so its a straight plug in deal using USB.

They do have rave reviews.

They caught my interest too so I did a bit more research on them.

It would seem that Central also carry them - see here, ThaiShope Online also carry them - see here, Sound Republic also carry them - see here, and here at iPrice there is a comparison of prices from 4 vendors.

The Lazada sub-vendor, Histyle Hifi has them in stock for 28,400 baht which seems to be pretty competitive.

They have a shop located in Siam Paragon (Bose do too) so it may be your best option to go there first and listen to both the latest Bose speakers as well as the Kef X300A's - see here.

Have a look of the Kef LS 50 these would be going up a notch, but not enough to justify the price difference for myself.

I have just brought an Avantree torpedo blue tooth speaker, from Lazada, 1400 baht ... quite impressed with sound quality!  My neighbour has JBL speakers which also have impressive sound quality for more money,,,

Could be worth trying out!

They aren't really in the same class Jim.

The Avantree mini soundbar has an output power of 5 W×2.

The Kef X300A powered desktop speaker system is more like a professional studio monitor, each X300A speaker has two dedicated class AB amplifiers - one for LF/MF and one for high frequencies – to ensure accurate, distortion-free sound reproduction. Speaker hum and electromagnetic interference are minimised by using toroidal transformers of the type specified for audiophile grade hi-fi amps. Amplification is by 2x 20 W (HF) and 2x 50 W (MF/LF) Class AB amplifiers. It is definitely "high-end".

I know what you mean about the JBL speakers though... I have a couple myself for outdoor use and the rechargeable battery lasts for about 4-5 hours at full volume.

I have a mate that takes his to golf!

Years ago I  had some high end  Bose speakers which were good until they died!

Just received my X300A's from Histyle Hifi, the packing and the delivery (Kerry Express) service was spot on. Just connected them up and the sound quality is superb.
