Anna Reese’s release on bail opposed by 'Don't Drive Drunk Foundation'

DDD Foundation opposes Anna Reese’s release on bail 

 

 

BANGKOK: -- The Don't Drive Drunk Foundation representatives yesterday petitioned the commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau protesting Hua Kwang police over the release of Thai-English model and actress Anna Hamblaouris on bail for drink driving charge.

 

They handed the protest letter to the MPB commissioner via his spokesman.

 

In the letter, it claimed that the model, also known as Anna Reese, had been charged with drink driving that killed a police officer in 2015.

She was given a suspension jail-term for the offence but repeated the same offence again, for drunkdriving and hit-and-run.

 

Therefore, it said she should not be freed on bail so as to make her conscious of the guilt she committed.

 

The foundation then asked that the police to deal seriously with her case, particularly repeated offence.

Big fat envelopes and appeasing the hiso's and their equally stupid brown nosing hanger oners will have much more sway than a simple foundation and a few unfortunate nobodies (in the eyes of the BIB / courts at least) who've had their lives destroyed by such oxygen thieves.

 

But in all seriousness they're absolutely correct, bail should not be an option for repeated drink drivers, especially those who are very likely to be breaching the conditions keeping her out of some squalid jail cell somewhere.. Lock this idiot up, do the right thing for once at least and forget about money / lost face

This such a good opportunity for the Police to show how serious an offence Drink-Drive is, and they're throwing it away. 

Anna is the perfect example to use for the seriousness of this offence.

A nice gesture, but she's already out now. Nothing'll happen to her but if this organisation grows in popularity and numbers, who knows, maybe they could one day sway people's attitude towards drink driving.

You would like to think that after killing one person drink driving, and escaping jail time, that the person would learn a lesson. She obviously hasn't.

There is every likelihood that she will go drinking and do it again. People who are a danger to society, need to be stopped. Hence the song and dance over her getting bail again.

Very good comments on here and if this happened in  the UK or the USA ,she would be going to court and she would of received a jail sentence 100% there would of been no big brown envelopes being passed around and if there was she would get more added on to her sentence for bribing someone in a public office.

However this is Thailand and for all of us that live here we all know she is a HI-SO and she will get away scot free, such a shame for the 1st police officers family she killed, but I bet they was happy with the blood money they got ,this is another thing that happens in a few countries worldwide as well ,I am not saying thats correct but it happens.

Clearly she hasn't learned her lesson from the first offence but if they take no action and she has money ,she will always get away scot free and face no consequences for what ever she does.TIT

Yes the Brown envelope Foundation sure needs a lot more scrutiny and exposure. Drunk driving is serious and the foundation is making a good point here to bad it cannot be extended to other areas so urgently in the need of exposure.

Was it not a judge, rather than the Metropolitan Police Bureau, who decide on the application for bail?

Good for them.  Their logic is totally sound.  They won't succeed this time because they will be trumped by money and connections but it is good that they are speaking up for what is right in this totally amoral society.  The only way things can ever change is, if they and other supporters of rule of law keep on speaking up and putting pressure on corrupt officials.

You would think somebody that good looking and well to do could afford a taxi or find some guy to drive her home.  She obviously has a behavioral problem when she drinks.  Given justice is out of the question, we may only hope we never hear of her again.  Her chances of fame or stardom in the west at least, due to her offenses, should be nil, but who knows.  If I had a relative like that, not sure how I would react.

Ah but you forgot. She spent time as a nun (no head shaving though). And the ghost of the man she killed visited her and forgave her.

This time, she seems to be claiming stress like the other little Missy who plowed into 9 cars.

Hiso don't change their behavior because they never really think they've done any wrong. And society apparently agrees.

i must say,i was quite impressed how our north American drunk driving laws have changed the mind set of the once common drinker driver.it was common place to drive drunk,but after years of tv adds, shaming and heavy heavy fines ,most who drink just don't think about driving drunk anymore..its now become the norm..

Why do farang on Thai visa refer to any Thai driving a car more expensive than a mid range Toyota as 'Hi-So', This girl is not regarded as 'Hi-So' by Thai people. She's a B-grade actress of dubious mixed stock, not a member of an elite Thai family. She's a nobody here, just like you and me.
