The mrs is applying for her British citizenship, they took payment and a month later she received a letter saying she had to also enrole for a BRP (she hasn't applied for one in the past as she came to the uk before these were started and she doesn't work), She did that at a post office and then we heard nothing since.

It's been 4 weeks now, they did not send anything in regard for payment for the BRP? So we thought we did not have to pay as it was never asked in the letter she was sent, as the BRP has to be cut up and sent back I thought they had jut asked for the biometrics to get them on their sytem so they could get on with the citizenship application.

How does she pay for it if it needs paying for? She didn't receive any info on how to pay, the citizenship had a payment form so that was simple but he BRP letter had nothing with it. I've read on line its about £300 but i can't find how to pay for it? Any help please. Does she have to actually fill in the BRP application form too? I have also read that :

You’ll get a biometric residence permit (BRP) if you:

apply to come to the UK for longer than 6 months

extend your visa to longer than 6 months

apply to settle in the UK

transfer your visa to a new passport

apply for certain Home Office travel documents

You don’t have to apply separately for a BRP. You’ll get one automatically if your visa or immigration application is approved, or you’re replacing an older document.

So does that include citizenship applications?

Thanks

You must also provide your biometric information (fingerprints and a photo). This costs £19.20.

The Home Office will tell you when you need to provide your biometric information. Your biometric information is only held until you’ve attended a citizenship ceremony.

So, did you pay this £19.20 at the post office when she gave her biometrics?

You should have done, and if so then there is nothing more to pay.

Note that decisions on naturalisation applications can take up to 6 months, though often it is shorter than this.

Yes i paid the £19.20, thanks for confirming I don't need to pay more,

I actually called the home office and was passed around several indian call centres, for nearly 75 mins! no one could give me an complete answer. I can't believe how incompetant they are.. Plus I emailed them and got the most vague responce known to man! Lol

Thanks 7by7!
