BANGKOK, 5th June 2017 (NNT) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha says the government has a sincere commitment to improving the well being of the poor and the many low-income earners in the community.

The prime minister said the government’s priority is to raise the living standard of low-income earners in the hope of reducing social disparities. The government has been rolling out policies and assistance measures centered on such members of the community.

The objectives are he said, to reduce people’s reliance on the government, increase their incomes, and ensure equal access to public services.

Gen Prayut said state funds injected into welfare programs for the underprivileged are spent transparently and productively, adding that every transaction can be verified.

In terms of household debt, he went on to say that the government is trying to resolve the problem of informal debts in a sustainable fashion through various loan schemes.

The coup deposed a government elected by poor people.

A little light in the details as per usual.  Foreign investment in those areas might help.  There is more to being prime minister than wearing fancy clothes and throwing temper tantrums.

Maybe have a day's campaign. Make up some posters, throw out some buzz words with zero context like 'social' and 'reliance', and then have a huge photo shoot. Then people can just continue as if nothing ever happened or changed.

No, this one will be different - big meetings, in every region. Big resorts booked for conferences, natty zip up windcheaters for the main participants, polo shirts fot the slightly less equal, tour buses for fact finding trips, maybe even a Military Police escort with wailing sirens.....

Nothing is too much trouble to improve equal access to the nations resources, especially for the eqpual ones.

Pile of complete and utter horse crap. Equality in Thailand? You mean that people like the Red Bull Boss will face justice the same as the man in the street? No one, and I mean NO ONE is going to believe such utter drivel.

Social equality in the Land of Patronage .... even I one of Kuhn Prayuts strongest supporters call bullcrap on that especially when accompanied by comments on those at the bottom and nothing at those at the top who are the enforces of said patronage.

Social equality in the west means everyone is equal... wonder how Prayut is going to include us "falang" into the equation?

Solve the poverty problem maybe by screwing us and doing a Robin Hood...Take from the rich falang give to the poor... after we have lined our own pockets...

Great news, this will see the good PM commit to fast tracking the extradition of "Boss" (the 'alleged' Red Bull cop killer).
