Anyone Have Problems With Toshiba Hotkeys ?

Even the screen brightness Fn + F6/F7 keys don't work. But more annoying are the hotkeys to run the DVD player -- handier than using a mouse. These don't work either.

Any suggestions? Could I re-install the Toshiba Hotkey Utility program from the recovery disks supplied without re-installing the whole operating system? Thank you.
