Soldiers search Tak home of Democrat deputy leader
By The Nation

TAK: -- The house of Democrat Party deputy leader Chaiwut Bannawat in Tak’s Mae Sot district was raided by around 50 soldiers on Wednesday morning.

Nothing illegal was found in the raid led by Col Nattapol Ruantib, chief of staff for the 14th Infantry Regiment based in Mae Sot, and no arrests were made.

While the situation remained calm, news reporters and passers-by were barred from taking photographs. Soldiers were seen guarding the front of the house while others searched additional buildings in the compound.

Chaiwut is a former Tak member of Parliament and former industry minister.

His brother, Wisut Bannawat, a former Tak provincial councillor, was seen speaking amicably to the troops.

Other residents of the compound appeared to offer no complaint or resistance.

Nattapol told them he was “carrying out an order from his boss”.

I wonder if westerners felt like that before !

A few years ago in Aus, my neighbour had his house broken into.

After returning from night shift,  and seeing the broken door, he called police.

The police came, took fingerprints and so on and left.

30 minutes later a fully armed almost SWAT team arrived. My neighbour was dragged away in cuffs.

It turned out that the persons responsible for the break in left a bong on the table.

This was established later. So yes, it happens everywhere, even in a so called western country.
