BANGKOK, 10th June 2017 (NNT) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered provincial authorities to revise development plans in line with national strategies.

The prime minister convened a meeting with local government authorities on Friday to go over the 2019 development plan focusing on wealth distribution in the eastern region and five southern border provinces.

Gen Prayut asked local officials to bolster investments and business activities in their cities, improve competitiveness, close social gaps, and speed up development in all areas.

He stated that the development plan for each province must be in compliance with the country’s 20-year strategy while ordering the Ministry of the Interior, the National Economic and Social Development Board, the Budget Bureau, and the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission to draw up a framework as guidance for local governments.

Sure, just by the wave of your hand it will be done oh great one.  Three years at the helm and now he gets around to rural areas.   He must have had a Shinawarta nightmare.

That's like ordering someone to jump out of a plane and parachute to earth. He'll follow the orders, but if he has no idea of what he's doing, it will result in disaster.

Sound familiar?

Sounds like someone is encouraging the BKK bar girls to send more money home to Isaan.

Could you imagine what would happen to Isaan if they did not send money home ?   As mentioned in places like Pattaya, some of these women earn 10 times the national average.  That is a pick up truck, house and school fees.

True there is not plan; no ideas about infrastructure, cross border trade, transport.  Would be great if there were direct flights from Isaan to Vietnam, Cambodia or China.

The good general or autocrat puts far too much importance in his non substantive utterances.

Decent jobs require decent investment, which requires decent knowledge that a local population has decent education to support a decent investment, and hence provide those decent jobs.

Mr PM,  please repeat the above 100,000 times to yourself before bed time and then come back and say something sensible please.

Does this mean government pricks in these areas get a pay rise?

Im in a rural area and the money never gets to the people. Examples.. Money and so on was approved for a bitumen road to be put in. 2yrs later no road but the little mayor has a nice new house on just 8,000 thb per month. No upgrade of electricity supply, countless renaming of land documents, my land is rewritten, new water tank put in that doesnt work while the old one that still sits next to it is perfectly functional and i had to connect everyones pipes at my cost with no thanks, constant selling of dirt illegally thats all done by the next soi mayor as he miraculously owns trucks and excavators to do so who ive personally seen paying bib, main mayor runs an illegal charcoal manufacturing trade, certain people are allowed to illlegaly log, countless never completed projects, projects only done with their own people/family at costs i could do myself 100times over, no inet cable has been put in even though it was funded. I live at the end of the road so people assumed i would pay for the 1km of cable but im mobile and it's more convienient so no one has internet apart from on there phones, no rubbish system even though there was a government project to do so, etc... I could go on all day. I had to buy a mini excavator to make a drainage  system along the road because the damage from illegal logging now makes it flash flood. This country is rotten to the core. Anyone ever know someone whos complained about corruption? It goes right to the top. No one will ever dare get some one else in trouble for doing the wrong thing. There all guilty and dont understand the difference and take offence thinking there way is right while people are trully doing things tough. I financially aid neighbours who are crippled and take everyones kids to school because all the kids live with aging grandparents that cant physically do much of anything and i even have to help all the kids with homework.

Because of this my family is having big problems because of the loss of face my wife is causing with some legal things which is probably going to have us killed. Its double standards with no rational reasoning when thinking that if you feed a fish as a farang and your @#$_d!.. do whatever as a thai and its ok..mistake, drunk, didnt know, poor, etc. Absolutely pahetic.

I dont know why this country is allowed tourism at all. Its out of control but takes a trained eye to see it obviusly. Most people really seem oblivious or just havent been here long enough and got out of the bars.

I have to add that family of government people are only ever voted in but i cant find anyone that voted these people in.

Corruption is way out of hand here.

Little childish boys and girls with a fake sense of superiority at the expense of very few real tax payers and tourism im guessing. Stealing money is not somethig to respect people. Its a crime that continually goes unpunished. Wake up Thais! Your land could actually be worth something, public service could help individuals, cleaner living means less burden on the hospital system thats stuffed and so on....

Next week it will be swept under the carpet. The guy talks out of his ass.

I thought he was sulking and not talking to the press from either end?
