Army of monkeys a major headache for Hua Hin people

Featured Replies

When I lived there 7 years ago they had the same old problem back then. They'd come up from behind you and bite your leg for food.  So do what they did before.  Trapped them and netted many and then relocated them to the National Park a few miles away.

But 3,000 now! Just complacency out of control.  And no control over feeding them.

Really? You guys are GUESTS in this country. If you don't like Monkeys or other native creatures, whose lives are no less important than yours, go and eat somewhere else, I'm sure lots of people who visit this area enjoy the experience of seeing Monkeys, if it annoys you, choose another place, the world doesn't revolve around you and your limited perception, thoughts and petty annoyances, they have equal rights to be there as you do!

Depending on the perception of 'pest' you might be the pests in the area, and not the monkeys!

Respect the natural animals of the Country that you are honoured to be a guest in!

This 'guest' thing has been hammered out many times on this and other forums.  By no stretch of the immagination are we 'guests'!!

I posted before, a few months ago, on a system that can rid you of monkeys and causes no pain suffering etc.

If you can trap one in a cage, somehow, and spray it with brightly coloured vegetable dye, use a few really bright colours, yellow, green, red etc they don't even have to be permanent or waterproof then release the monkey it will head back to it's troop who will run from it. They don't see it as a monkey and just want away from it. It keeps following, they keeping running and by the time the dye wears/washes off they will be miles away and may not return.

Old Malaysian system.

I would say permanent is a definite no-no, or you would have a lonely celibate monkey on the loose

Does your 'Guest' argument still count when Thai's are equally irritated with this issue ?

You see, the fundamental flaw in your argument is that more commonly than not Thai's hold very similar opinions to us Westerners, because (and don't be shocked) they are also not stupid and the highly unimaginative and dumb argument of  'go elsewhere if you don't like it' falls flat on its face because quite frankly it is dumb !
