BANGKOK: -- British singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran joins the superstars adding Bangkok to their world tours and has confirmed that he’ll be performing at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani on November 16.

 

Sheeran’s singles “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill” have taken the globe by storm, hitting the first and second spots across the charts worldwide while seeing the Suffolk native break a magnitude of records along the way. He also made British chart history as the first-ever artist to land the two spots respectively with two brand new tracks.

 

 The 26-year-old artist recently conquered more milestones in the USA after landing his first-ever No 1 as a performer on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Shape of You”. With “Castle on the hill” sitting closely behind at No 6, he also became the first artist to debut in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 with two songs simultaneously.

 

Sheeran made history with the biggest-ever global ‘one week’ and ‘one day’ streams for a track with “Shape of You”. Reaching 132 combined #1 iTunes positions around the world, the two songs have accumulated over 370 million worldwide streams to date. The official video for “Castle on the Hill” has already reached more than 160 million hits.

 

In addition to Sheeran’s epic rise with his recorded music, the Suffolk-born artist has also broken records in the live sphere over recent years. In July 2015, he became the first-ever artist to headline the prestigious Wembley Stadium solo, with just his trademark loop pedal and guitar, playing to 240,000 people over three consecutive sold-out nights. His genre-defying third studio album ÷ (divide) was released on March 3 and is still riding high on charts across the globe.
