PM discusses cooperation in education, tourism with Cuban ambassador

BANGKOK, 16 June 2017 (NNT) – The Prime Minister discussed the promoting of cooperation in education and tourism with the Cuban ambassador to Thailand.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha welcomed Cuban Ambassador Hector Conde Almeida at Government House on his courtesy call.

Deputy Government Spokesman Lt Gen Weerachon Sukondhapatipak said the Cuban envoy had expressed condolences to the passing of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and congratulated the ever-growing relationships between the two countries.

Thailand and Cuba will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations next year.

Both sides discussed cooperation in many areas, including the promotion of investments and regional economic connectivity.

The premier encouraged both countries to push forward cooperations on medical tourism, and the development of education system and knowledge exchanges in order to lay down the solid foundation for Thailand 4.0 development.

Both sides have agreed to regularly hold exchanges and high-level bilateral talks to promote the relations.

Its up to 4.0 ... cool

Hopefully, it will get out of Beta Testing soon and they put on new Admins to make it happen :)

good, two countries that are 100 years behind the times should have many things in common and lots to talk about.

And the PM can learn more about a communist country. The same thing he seems to love about communist China.

hahahhaha. I'm impressed. So Thailand will achieve the same development as Cuba? In education? Well, Cuba got a famous leader in the past and this General here is the leader "to come". There's no democracy, here's no democracy either. That's pretty good reasons to work together. So be laid back and watch Thailand moving backwards?

100 years behind the times? Bit harsh innit?

The General needs to ensure he doesn't upset his new best friend in Washington. DJT has plans upcoming for Cuba.

Yeah, but. . .  First China, now Cuba. Does the White House know about all these reds getting under the Thai thiang non?

I'm betting that one topic high on the PM's agenda would be a serious comparison between Thai and Cuban scantily clad pelvic thrusting dancers.

Think you'll find education and health to be quite advanced in Cuba.

According to a 2014 report by The World Bank, Cuba has the best education system in Latin American and the Caribbean. The World Bank Report also praises Cuba for its success in the fields of education and health, with social services that exceeds those of most developing countries and, in certain sectors, are comparable to those of the developed nations. The country’s social system that ensures state-sponsored universal access to education and health services has helped Cuba to achieve universal literacy, eradicate certain diseases and provide universal access to safe drinking water and basic public sanitation. Cuba now has one of the region’s lowest infant mortality rates and longest life expectancy.
