Decent 3 star hotel around soi 7/8/9 ?

Yes I know Agoda/Booking.com. I'm in the 3 star range and that's a very unsecure area while booking on the internet.

The pictures and description of the hotels  are not always that truthful. The reason I want to stay in this area is that my embassy is close by. I want to stay a week   or so...was thinking maybe  You guys can give me some piece of advice. I,m in around 1.500 baht range. Thanks.

He means ANY soi in the whole of BKK, as far as it's soi 7/8/9. Just be his lucky numbers...

I think he wants Chaeng Wattana soi 7 so he can be close to Immigration in case he wants to drop in.

Don't stay inside soi 9... as a back alley pissoir it's the least salubrious location in Bangkok! 

 

You could try city lodge hotel, but really there's options aplenty in your price range. You can also widen your parameters location wise - the area between Nana and Asoke is very dense, so anything up to soi 19 would be a ten minute walk maximum.
