June 26, 20178 yr Social contract ready for public hearing late this month BANGKOK, 26 June 2017 (NNT) - The recently drafted reconciliation contract will be given public hearings in late June and early July, according to the Defense Ministry. Defense Ministry spokesman Maj Gen Kongcheep Tantravanich said today the unity agreement which was recently approved by Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon will undergo minor changes as suggested by Gen Prawit himself and will be unveiled to the people in public hearings late this month and early July. Public forums will be held in Bangkok, Nakhon Ratchasima, Phitsanulok, and Nakhon Si Thammarat. The agreement is centered on trust and understanding, Maj Gen Kongcheep said, adding that it's hoped the 3-page document will prevent social and political conflicts especially those triggered by hate speech. Apart from hearing what the Thai public has to say, the forums are intended to clarify the content of the draft agreement. The contract was written by three panels formed under the Gen Prawit-led reconciliation committee. -- nnt 2017-06-26

June 26, 20178 yr "reconciliation contract " Seems like a one way contract to me. (or just like other contracts I had before with Thais)
June 26, 20178 yr Reconciliation you will love, or else. Amazing that it took three committees to draft a three-page "contract", in what, a few years, and which probably uses 2 1/2 pages to proscribe the penalties for not reconciling.
June 26, 20178 yr Gen Prawit's philosophy on the unity agreement: the military gives and the public takes. Regardless what the public says in the forums, the content of the draft agreement is set. Tyranny comes to mind.
