Thailand to host Future Energy Asia 2018

BANGKOK, 27 June 2017 (NNT) - The Ministry of Energy is preparing to host the "Future Energy Asia 2018" event in December next year, hoping to transform Thailand into an energy hub of Asia.

The Ministry of Energy has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with DMG Event Global Energy on the organization of Future Energy Asia 2018 which will be held from December 12th -14th next year at BITEC Bangna.

The event is considered a step forward for Thailand to become a 4.0 nation that provides a business platform for energy companies to transform themselves into integrated energy providers. Such transformation will lead to sustainable energy development in Thailand.

According to the International Energy Agency, demand for energy in Southeast Asia from 2015 to 2040 will surge by as much as 80%. Investments in the energy sector in Asia are expected to increase by 250 billion US dollars in the next two decades.
