Nutrition for an 11 year old athlete

Featured Replies

My son plays football at a highly competitive level but he is very skinny.  He is now playing U12 football and many of the kids have had their growth spurts by this age.  He gets muscled off the ball every time weight gets involved.  He can play at that level because he is faster and more technical than the other kids but his lack of mass is difficult for him.  Height wise, he is slightly above average, which means he is short in the environment he plays in.  His weight is around the 30th percentile for his age.  Both his parents have very low body fat as do the other siblings.  I know he will fill out with muscle in time but I'm wondering if I can increase his weight by developing a better nutrition plan.

I'm looking for a nutritionist to provide some guidance.  Thank you.
