This is what happens when you marry a rice farmers daughter in Thailand. To be expected really.. would be the same anywhere in the world if the girl has a M1 education as she had to raise her kid.

I guess when the OP was shopping for wives, his budget couldn't stretch to youth AND brains.

Thais can live careless lives because they don't have to worry about whats going on in the world .  Why would they know names of famous western people ? It gives no meaning to them . But if you ask her about Thai food and other things about Thailand she is an expert.  

Unless your wife get a uni education and want to work outside of Thailand there's no need to learn about anything western .

This is what they are taught....This is what they practice....

My wife is a Uni graduate that worked as a manager for a large multinational corporation....She keeps up world events somewhat - but they are not an interest to her....She's aware of most international stories....

 

What she is interested in & does a phenomenal job of, is taking care of me and our children = to her we are her world....

 

After all these years it's almost impossible to fault her....There simply is no drama or trouble....

 

Thai wives love to please....Why purposely upset that by making up flaws to point out to them or make them feel less whole - less than pleasing - less of a good Thai wife?

 

Suspect that's why a lot of farangs end up alone and bitter.....

 

Carpe diem - just be wise about it
