July 1, 20178 yr ‘Startup Thailand 2017’ aims high By The Nation The Ministry of Science and Technology will next week organise "Startup Thailand 2017" to raise the awareness of entrepreneurs and investors. Science and Technology Minister Atchaka Sibunruang said the event scheduled from July 6-9 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok aims to promote and connect the growth of start-up businesses in Asia, Thai National News Bureau reported on Friday. The ministry has established international networks and cooperation within Asia in terms of investments and counseling, while experts and successful entrepreneurs will provide counselling sessions as well as support for start-up companies. The event is also aimed at university and vocational students to study a start-up business model, as well as investors to become more aware of the importance of Thailand’s start-up industry. She said next year’s event will focus on the expansion of start-up businesses and the amendment of some laws to facilitate growth, as well as the creation of a start-up network capable of launching global businesses using research and innovations.
