What are the possibilities for getting a Tourist visa for my Thai wife, and what does the US Embassy generally demand as documentation when applying for a tourist visa!

I myself come from a European country, which is on the Visa waiver program to USA.

Would an invitation from my far out relatives in USA be to any help.

We would only be interested in a tourist visa for the purpose that my wife could sightseeing the highlights of America together with me.

Thanks :o

Chances are real good. There are many such stories on old threads here.

What US is looking for is reasons she will return and not stay in US. If you live in Thailand or your home country it should be easy to show that you have ties to that location. Marriage certifcate, bank accounts, property, (yours and/or hers) employment, etc.

Invitation is nice but not real helpful.

Just got our 10yr multientry visa for my wife last week.

It was a breeze. We were there for 3 hours only because the computers were down.

Could have been in and out on less than 60 minutes.

We brought all sorts of documentation and they never looked at anything but the 2 forms, Non Imm Application and Supplementary Application.

Total cost was $100 paid at the "Pay at Post" section of any Thai Post Office. [there is one at the embassy]

Have to make an appointment after paying about ~$20 for some sort of ID number. Then you an make an appointment for a day and time for the interview of the wife.

We had several things going for us

1/ I have a well documented job

2/ I have lived here for 3 years

3/ We are married for 2 years

4/ We have a 6 month old daughter who is now a US citizen with passport

Great website with all the answers ...
