Well......eating sandwiches is now a political offence whereas it wasn't before.

Reading George Orwell is not allowed in public.

Liking a Facebook post might find you guilty of commiting a crime.

Saying nothing at all except 'yes' is now an LM offence.

Unelected officials placed in power after the coup claim two salaries, their military one and their civilian one. In addition there is nothing wrong when these unelected officials employ the close family as secretaries etc, even when one officials wife was given several different jobs all on nice salary. Press criticism of this was quickly stifled.

I could go on but why bother when everyone knows he is here to say.

If this government has taught anybody anything it is that article 44 is a very useful tool for the head honcho to have.

In the proposed sham elections that are coming, will the new government also be allowed to keep article 44 ? Be interesting to see what the Democrats or Phua Thai would do with it.

And if article 44 gives absolute power would a future government be able to override the Generals complete amnesty?

That would indeed be poetic justice. Let's hope.

Have you ever considered why the majority have have been booted early, and don't fly the old chestnut that the military wanted the power - the military have all the power they ever need irrespective of who's supposedly running the show, therefore there must be another reason - like the encumbent government are screwing up.

Yes I've considered why "the majority have been booted out early", the majority elected a government that threatened the privileged status quo of a minority backed by the military.  Duh!

"don't fly the old chestnut that the military wanted power"  Seriously?  Yes, as the military has demonstrated coup after coup, it has all the power it needs, and doesn't hesitate to use that power whenever a government elected by the majority threatens to upset the status quo.

"there must be another reason - like the encumbent government are screwing up."  Name a government that hasn't screwed up, and don't tell us it's the current junta.  Democracy doesn't promise perfect government, it promises the people a chance to change the current government when it screws up, and to do so without a coup.  The last elected government was trying to give the people that option, but the military absolutely didn't want an election.

Have you wondered why the military stepped in when the protests were fading, life was returning to normal, and there was the prospect of a successful election?  What do you suggest?   Perhaps a democracy in which only military generals are allowed to vote?

If only generals were allowed to vote .......and every country in the world followed suite , then Thailand would have the highest voter turnout in the world. :shock1:

Who is chasing previously convicted criminals to recover millions or billions of baht taken from the thai economy and taxes not paid.

Yeah, you are right.
Now, all states purchases are 100% free of corruption, completely transparent and fully coordinated with the will of the people.
Hopefully you will not slip out on your mucus track.

It would be nice if the Hon. PM could abolish

the rule that forces farangs on long term tourist visas, to leave the country every 60 days! :wai:

Great news this for me! So it seems the polled persons are not numb and dumb! ...As they do realise NOTHING that really matters has been DONE. Now just hope that the general population does realise it, and grows the b..ls it needs, to come out again, all clad in orange (red + yellow = ), shouting 'we are are mad as hell, we can't take it anymore'! Wouldn't it be great? Glory to Prayuth and his brass, they would have achieved 'reconciliation'! When there are hundreds of thousands, millions, of you, the soldiers won't shoot, whatever they have been ordered (...except, alas, for the odd lunatics and mercenaries), and when they start turning to you, the dominos will fall!

Now, now, don't exagerate, there is still Paraguay to allow the Thai Generals to claim: 'we are not the worst'. LOL

It is a blessing that the Junta are in charge and Khun Prayuth Chan O Cha is in the top job. He has worked hard, however some farang just want to throw mud at any news article whether it's a new project being planned or anything to do with his work.

Who kept the media and thai's continuously informed with running TV broadcasts every friday night then daily in some cases.

Who represented Thailand at the UN General assembly and spoke in front of the US president and officials. Do you really think his predecessors were even near professional enough to do what he did ... ?

Who managed to get the China-Thai high speed rail project up and running with 80% going to Thai contractors.

Who cleaned up areas of Sukhumvit which were once plagued by street carts and almost impassable to pedestrians.

Who is looking to implement road safety rules with the banning of persons riding in the back of pickups.

Who is chasing previously convicted criminals to recover millions or billions of baht taken from the thai economy and taxes not paid.

Who is keeping the country running so it is not plagued with lawlessness, protests that block the streets and affect everyday thai's just wanting to go about their business. Who is chasing those suspected of fraudulent rice schemes that cost Thailand billions of baht which can never be recovered because of prices promised and never delivered.

I could go on with more .....   there are dozens upon dozens of activities that Khun Prayuth Chan O Cha has achieved or is pushing to achieve.

But some farang are never happy with the way things are no matter how hard the government works they will always whinge. This shows one's lack of understanding Thai politics and the reason someone such as the Junta and Khun Prayuth has to be in charge to control the troublemakers.

Those whingers and whiners wouldn't even hold a candle to the General. They wouldn't know the first thing about his job.

I think the current government is doing a good job. It is certainly much better than his predecessors. As such one can only hope that the Junta stay in control for as long as possible and hopefully at least 10yrs or longer.

Who detained scores of academics for questioning?  Who removed a government elected by the people of Thailand?  Who squelched all political dissent?  Who detained dissidents and zapped their balls with electric shock?  Who has raised the abuse of lese majeste law for political purposes to a fever pitch?  Who made simple expressions of dissent like eating a sandwich or reading 1984 in public arrest-worthy offenses?  Yeah, this fascist military government sure has done a lot.

Would you be in support of the above being instituted in your own country, I wonder?

Yawn, the military doesn't want 'power', they want 'ultimate power', which is being in control of all(!) powers there are, that is the position the brass is in now, and the timing of the coup had as little of an excuse as might be with the ST loony tune's PDRC, on top of TS's red and black militiamen baking it too, bloody, brown, the urgency was elsewhere, and that, for once, they managed well, for their own, as, IMO, it has become very clear, and, unless very big, and, sadly, unexpected, things happen (like the real Thais waking up at last, having developped courage and bravery during their long sleep?), they are in total control for at least a generation.

Of couse they know what he did. He made Lamyai famous, but he also reduced the lucky nine thrusts to a measly three. One thrust forward two back.

I read half this drivel thinking it's satire and the joke will come.  Feel like I need a shower now.

Same here, I was waiting for the punchline.

It turned out to be just fanboy drivel.

This is how I view the Government. Always half done.
