3A fuses are very common in the UK - Standard for many appliances ... http://www.electricalsafetyfirst.org.uk/guides-and-advice/electrical-items/plugs-and-fuses/

Ring mains are common in the UK also.  I know about the origin for those and suspect the requirement for fused appliances are a result.  But, I've never seen a good explanation of WHY this practice continues.  Especially, WHY one would want to do it here.  Sorry to mess up the OP's topic.

Singapore and Malaysia use BS1363 plugs and outlets, so there is your best bet locally, or Ebay.

To be honest, unless you've wired a ring-final UK style you don't need the fuse.

I take it you no longer require them , or are you using aluminum foil?????

Apparently the OP is moving back to the UK, so'll probably get the rusty nails, aluminium foil, or actual UK fuse whilst there.
