Airport police return wallet to Chinese tourist

By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Two policemen found a wallet with over Bt10,000 and several credit cards in it at Suvarnabhumi Airport and managed to return it to a Chinese tourist on Monday night

The wallet was found by Captain Sipong Tangchuwong and Lance Corporal Surin Thongrak when they were patrolling the departure lounge near Gate 2 at about 9.30pm.

They took the wallet to Suvarnabhumi Airport Police Station to search for the owner.

Shortly after that, a Chinese tourist, Xi Yun Pun, 28, arrived at the station to report that he had lost his wallet.

Police checked his passport to confirm his identity and returned the wallet.

Xi said he did not expect to see his wallet again.

How many minutes was it between the story of checked luggage thievery and this rebuttal?

Seems like they're getting faster.

I would assume it would be something totally normal and of no reason to make the news , regarding police officers giving back lost money to its owner...

But one could assume, due to all the publicity in such issues, that by Thai standards, such behaviour would merit the news as it may be so uncommon???

Well, if that is the case, well done boys...:clap2:...keep up the good work!

"To serve & protect"  is motto of most global police forces.

I'd like to see that happen here more often.

Does it?
