superal
The ongoing saga with USA / N. Korea is starting to hot up at a rate and no "U" turns available. With the newly imposed sanctions K/J is angry as he is seeing that this could possibly be the start of the end of his empire . He may act like a wild animal backed into a corner with nothing to lose as he does not have any concern for his own people . Who will blink first and " is it time to get out of Dodge " ? Just what would be the implications of a nuclear weapon dropped on the island of Guam for Asia? The BBC has good reading on the subject http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-40882877

superal
Just watched a report on the BBC news from Guam . Many local people concerned as you would expect with the Japanese tourists more so and thinking of getting out , got a feeling that there could be a domino effect type stampede , exit wise . Problem is the talking is all but finished and this new dictator has to show his power . We have not seen anything like this before that I can recall in modern post war times . How do you deal with such a lunatic who is known to drink to the extreme and continue to give commands with such destructive weaponry at his disposal ? ? tonray
America has been involved in 13 armed conflicts since the Korean war armistice. That does not count all the covert actions that we will never hear about and the misery they have caused. North Korea has been involved in...of yeah that's right....none I believe. I understand that NK is a threat but we need to make clear in 2 ways how absurd it would be to attack us or allies: 1) Place anti-missile technology everywhere around them...advanced radar will certainly piss China off but who cares....Kim has given us ample justification for doing so. 2) Make 1 simple public statement: "any attack on the USA or it's allies will result in a concerted effort to kill and remove Kim and all family members from power and degradation of any and all military capabilities. We will not stop until all members of the Kim dynasty are dead or imprisoned." Edited August 11, 2017 by tonray
geriatrickid
Fallout from a North Korean detonation over Seoul would drift back over North Korea and eventually to China. Fallout from a detonation over Pyongyang would drift back over North Korea and into China. If in the Northeast, then it could wipe out Vladivostok in Russia. Any North Korean detonation over japan would have a fallout drift northward contaminating the ocean and wiping out marine life. Fallout from anything hitting the west coast of the USA would drift northwest. However, it is to be expected that US interception efforts would be attempted in the arctic or over Canada if the missile was launched using a polar route. the end result is that much of Canada's north its key western farming zones contaminated damaging the Canadian economy and removing a large amount of the world's key grain supplier causing a world famine. The Canadian oil industry could be wiped out as well which would destroy Canada. If a missile was fired at Guam and intercepted over the pacific, the world would see fish stock contaminated and countries who rely on pacific fish stocks pushed into shortage. if it his Guam, then North Korea would be obliterated with a nuclear cloud poisoning China and causing a retaliation. The bottom line is that the madman must be stopped now. China and Russia must act and pull their puppet in or kill him and his henchmen.

Until the Chinese stop propping up the tyrant we will have the madness. It's time to make the Chinese pay the price. Make the Chinese suffer economically and they will act. The folks bashing the USA are blinded by their hatred. It's not the USA who are at greatest risk. The Japanese, South Koreans and Pacific islanders who are in the path of the fall out will be wiped out. The environment will be irretrievably harmed, and Canada could see its country plunged into economic failure with the loss of its far north and prairie region. The North Korean missile will most likely not reach the Continental USA but will hit Japan or South Korea or Canada. The North Korean regime is engaged in its own genocide and foreign terrorism. Stop making excuses.
Thaidream
There is no fear for anyone in Thailand. Thailand is following the United nations sanctions but it is not going to clode North Korea business in Thailand . In the event of a war erupting Thailand may allow US warplanes and soldiers into Thai military bases on the way to and exiting the war zone. The North Korean leader was schooled in Switzerland and speaks several languages. He is not ignorant nor a foll and knows exactly what he is doing. He knows a North Korean first strike with either nuclear or conventional weapons will be his downfall and get universal condemnation and will allow the US to counterattack. Even if N Korea launched a nuclear strike- the US response will be non nuclear. rump knows that the destruction involved with a nuclear weapon would be disastrous. The only solution is negotiation and a lowering of the rhetoric. As part of the negotiation- Kim must agree to denuclearize the Korean peninsula and both Russia and china guarantee Kim's survival. The US must agree to no N Korean regime change; withdraw from South Korea and the UN sanctions removed. The best way to get N Korea to ultimately stand down is to bring its economy into the capitalistic system.
