I believe you can disagree without being rude or making derogatory remarks ?

I am always offended, if the regular offenders on TVF don't offend me, after I have written an offensive post.

Hands down funniest thing you ever said but that was not so hard was it.

It breaks my heart to despair of my nation. Brits can be the best,  some let us down.

We Brits have offended many nations with the behaviour of our young drunks. The same is true in Australia when schoolies (A level students smash up Queensland coastal towns) with the view they are entitled  to misbehave.

Brits of a certain age and education are the best, or at least very good, but we've bred a bunch of feral brats.

Let's own up,  let's sort it out,  or we are in one big mess.

There are some (a lot actually) who look through post to see who bites att certain things then will go out of there way to try to get those posters to bite and to get annoyed with them for instance the old son trick at the end of a reply ie show me "son" always gets a reaction

You mean like these a$$holes:
"Im already calm son. But please do walk on by save me having to ignore you."

I think the OP has a point where civility is concerned. It's been said a fair few times about the lack of things such as a simple hello is missing amongst expats when they bump into each other.

I have had three westerners say hello to me over the last 15 months in my tiny city. I have seen maybe 50 westerners. I must admit I do keep my head down and take little notice of those around me but if someone does say hello I always greet them back, but I admit I am never the one to make the first move.

Rc2702 it's time to say hello, burst that bubble,. First night in NangRong I went into a bar, saw two farang and said hello.  Two Brits, now one is my very good mate,  the other is too but with alcohol related health problems. We all are taking refuge from our earlier lives,  the others want to know our story as much as you want to know theirs.
