Donsak Port Surat Thani

Featured Replies

Chaps,I travel monthly down to Trang from Pattaya know the route fine but later this year I,ll be visiting Ko Samui, and I,m wondering which is the best road to take when leaving the AH2 highway? on the left opposite to the Surat Thani co-op (going south) it is signposted "Samui Ferry" but on google maps it gives road number 2007 which is a few kms earlier.......as road signs are not usually shown here until your actually on them......I,ve never seen this  exit road 2007 signposted off the AH2 :whistling:

Best way please when leaving the AH2 to Donsak Port

Highway 44 would be the quickest and most straight forward.

Thanks but its over 30 kms longer?

It avoids Surat completely and all the current roadworks. It also has very little traffic and you can comfortably drive at 160kph.

An alternative route would be 417 followed by 420. This uses the airport road which is always busy and a minor rural road but does avoid the town.
