  1. so from here - https://www.iexpats.com/qnups/ Looks like I may have been hasty in denigrating Malta before......... Another article I read mentioned Singapore.
  2. Channel Isles and IOM have their own financial safeguards which are different to the UK ones. Also I would suggest the legal recourse is stronger there than say Cyprus/Malta et al..... @Expat68 seems to be proving that above. A number of offshore banks like Lloyds International are based in IOM or Channel Islands so not sure exactly what @BritManToo is saying. Yes of course you don't get the same protections as in the UK but that does not really help you.......
  3. So they are not very good drivers also? I really do not understand the point of your post? I know many foreigners here who ride motorbikes - so......? Not sure who you think is trolling unless it is you.........
  4. Since we are really talking "western" currencies here which one has changed 30% a year "frequently" in the last 10 years........
  5. Not really. Club in my local town in the UK the security refused entry to my then Thai gf who was in her mid 20's until we went back with her passport. I was refused service in a beachside/hotel bar in the US when I was in my 30's until I produced my passport. The US I believe is somewhat stricter than Europe generally.
  6. The penultimate paragraph would almost be amusing except officials were probably serious..... Do they even understand the idea behind Bolt/Grab etc......
  7. As already mentioned they are a broker. They offer insurance policies from numerous companies but push their own in house policies - Regency for Expats. All part of the Alliance Insurance Group.
  8. I understand this and anybody who posts here for a while is (should be....) very aware of this but it should not stop people asking relevant questions - should it? Possibly another poster may see the article elsewhere or on TV and understand enough Thai to be able to shed some light. I can see where the pictures possibly come from but there is no attribution to the article source.
  9. Any reason you picked Stoke - have you ever actually been there? Comparing anything in Stoke to BKK is somewhat unusual.......
  10. This post here just reinforces my thought that your whole topic is one big wind up.........
  11. I am a little confused - Which of the following was the father? and who was chasing Tey - all be it that came from Boy's sister who according to the report is 6 years old......?
  12. Has that been up long as I have never noticed it and go past fairly often?
  13. I don't but was wondering if you saw this earlier thread which may help - There are also some Graphene variants on XDA forums for certain phone/s. here is one I bookmarked - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-unofficial-custom-lockedbl-q-a10-hotdog-e-os-for-oneplus-7t-pro-bye-google-hello-privacy-and-security-lock-your-bootloader.4290485/
  14. This is definitely not true for all Insurers. My value of my car gets reduced every year with Axa for example.
  15. Yes it's now an issue. Plus April ignored my request not to notify them and copied them on my email saying so........
  16. I see no mention in Sheryl's replies on this thread about AA? Are you referring to AA Insurance the broker? If so be aware that their Thai offices can only offer Thai based Insurance policies now and if you want International policies they are being handled by another company subsidiary called AA World who are based in India.
  17. Well that should be good news for some who on the main thread were basically unable to access their accounts - @MJCM was one from memory but there were others.
  18. I know your question is rhetorical (well I hope so) but some people don't want to have anything, or as little as is possible, to do with Google and their rapacious need for your data. There are options regarding the second point. I have happily not done so in the past. Or you can use Aurora Store as one example which pulls from Play Store "anonymously"...... I don't.
  19. So if you don't do happy snaps etc why do you think you need so much storage? According to another of your posts even with the largest SD card you currently only have 170GB...........
  20. From the link Good job guys...............not
  21. There is definitely one in a small bar on Soi Lengkee - my gf and her friends were having a game on it some weeks ago........ Walking up Lengkee towards Third Road on the left after Steak and Co and Travellers from memory. Had a small pool table as well at the back. Saturday night and had one woman working in it..........was not my choice
  22. This guy did a lot of work for my neighbour and he was very happy with the result. Built in furniture and other stuff. I asked regarding some small jobs and although I was in no hurry I found the quote somewhat eye watering....... His wife/partner's name is Kwan and you can get him/her on 089 246 3615. If you find anybody else good please let us know as I still need the jobs doing
