SCB EasyNet Mobile App logon?
topt replied to SurfRider's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Worked with me - I have had to buy a new phone to continue banking with SCB as my everyday one is rooted....... Yep I started to not be able to spoof it last month. What was really annoying today was the SCB app refusing to open on my new phone because I had installed a specific app which had access to Accessibility and wanted that feature to be switched off before it would work....... Considering that this was an app downloaded directly from Playstore I was not amused........ -

Not from your PC (or even a browser on your phone) you wont - unless you are successful in doing what @Daffy Dhas suggested above......... Mobile App only. -

They used to be available in the Discount mall sports shop at the top of Thrappassit. Almost as far as you could go in the main building furthest away from the Lotus store on Suk. Not looked for a while so unsure if still stocked.

SCB ending SCB Easy Net internet banking.
topt replied to phetphet's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Not sure if it helps as I am in Thailand but in theory the principal should be the same. Registered Scb Easy on my new non-rooted phone a few days ago. Removed my sim and put it back in my rooted daily driver phone. A day later used my new phone without any sim in it but connected to wi fi and have successfully made 4/5 transfers......... -
Moving UK Sterling 100K plus to Thailand
topt replied to Negita43's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
They simply hold it in their $ account until you want to change it. SCB for example used to be able to hold it for I think at least 30 days although that may have changed. I never managed to last longer than 10 days......... -
Moving UK Sterling 100K plus to Thailand

When I did this some years ago for a similar amount I had to set it up in advance with my UK bank with an actual fax giving permission to transfer. I had been in the UK some months before it and saw my local bank manager so he was prepared for it. I stress this was some time ago and things may have changed but worthwhile asking them especially if doing it from here. -
I have one main issue with that document, which I have seen before, and that is the following - and then after one small para it states - Which does not make sense to me. For a start you may not be able to lay your hands on all the "duplicates"....... If you revoke a will normally you state in the new will that you revoke any prior wills unless you are adding a codicil....... For that reason and not being able to read Thai I have not been able to consider using that template but that's not to say it wouldn't be ok especially if you were never planning to change it.

if anybody is interested and has a few spare hours there is a lot of info (often conflicting.....) in here - You could always skip to the last half dozen or so pages which are probably more relevant

Where is your home country? Not a stipulation to be found in most western nations that I am aware of.........

Bangkok Bank and SCB apps access on new phone
topt replied to jimn's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Incorrect. unless you are changing phone number. I reinstalled SCB Easy on a new phone only last night. During the process it specifically told me to switch off wi fi and use data. -
Bangkok Bank and SCB apps access on new phone

No because you need to use the Thai cell service to activate. You cannot do it over wi fi. There have been several recent threads on this. So you need to be in Thailand to do. -
Not 100% BritManToo - but depends on individual circumstances as usual. @GroveHillWanderer have a read of this - https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/pensions/article-11871495/Can-state-pension-retire-Steve-Webb-replies.html

SCB ending SCB Easy Net internet banking.
topt replied to phetphet's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Yes making this move with only a months advance notice seems a little rushed to me. I was certainly not aware of any news around this sort of thing happening in the near future with any banks prior to this. Perhaps the banks all drew straws and the others are now watching and waiting in the wings to see the result.......... -

Why should he - you are the one who is wrong but for some reason either cannot see it or accept it....... I guess it doesn't matter since Easy Net is disappearing so will these supposed accounts........... -

I can't believe you guys are arguing about this . But for arguments sake where in that picture does it suggest it is called EasyNet account? They have a EZ Savings account - https://www.scb.co.th/en/personal-banking/deposits/savings-account/easy-saving-account.html Further down the page it mentions - Further research turns up this link which shows the Savings E Passbook which I guess is what you had - https://www.scb.co.th/en/personal-banking/rates-fees.html -
Sorry but do you mean 1,500 to clean one small unit once or......?

Crikey that does surprise me that there was that much difference. I also had a valuation done in 2015 and more recently (end 2021) when I was back out of interest and there was a quite large theoretical increase...... Currently no plans to sell so we'll see in the fullness of time but unfortunately I can only see governments making it more punitive in the future.

In addition to @bradistonlink this link gives concrete examples of the different ways to work out what you may owe if you are officially non-resident for tax in the UK https://www.gov.uk/guidance/capital-gains-tax-for-non-residents-calculating-taxable-gain-or-loss Interesting to me as the more complex calculation over a longer period gave a reduced CGT charge.

For SCB it is part of the Easy app but on my phone it saved it to screenshots in my Gallery/pictures. I then used to bluetooth transfer it to my pc if I needed it there.
