I don't follow your logic in this statement. I have lived in LOS for 4 years and never filed taxes here. No income was remitted in the same year as it was earned. I got a tax ID so I could open a bank account that earned much better interest than the typical savings account. I spent only about 15 minutes in the TRD office to get my free Thai tax ID. Having a Thai tax ID has not cost me anything. It does save me the trouble of filing a yearly tax form to request a refund of tax withheld from bank interest payments.

In my case, I had the initial two year Thai license that was issued easily when I showed them my valid US license. I didn't pay attention and my Thai license expired more than a year before I went to renew it. In this scenario I would have to waste most of a day sitting through those boring videos to renew my license. They told me I couldn't use my still valid US license as a shortcut to getting my Thai license re-issued. I believe that is what the sentence I quoted above is telling us.

For those technically inclined you can test drive Apple's MacOS if you have vanilla mid-level Intel hardware. Look for instructions on how to create a Hackintosh. That was my introduction to the Apple universe. I managed to avoid paying the Apple "tax" on hardware by getting a free iMac from a generous casino and then buying a used Mac Mini for my wife. Unfortunately my iMac is now too old to "officially" run Sequoia but will probably use OCLP to run it unofficially. Since it will be equivalent to a new install, I don't think I need to worry about first installing 14.7. I could never go back to Windows.... the bundled Mac apps are so much better than MSoft's or Android's.
