  1. Pretty cool move: if life begins at conception, as the anti-abortion crowd likes to say, it's put up or shut up. All for protecting the rights of the unborn, are you? My guess is this is a lawyer's idea.
  2. Jesus Saves at your local Quikserve Market! [show crucifix for 10% discount] Now that is what you call a Christian value!
  3. I've been saying it for years: the right can't do political satire, and the left can't do the "hair on fire!" political urgency. Gutfield isn't really satire, it's junior high school level insults, or "rank outs." But I have to take part of it back, the left has been doing well with the backlash to Roe being cancelled. The only right-winger I can give credit to for satire was Al Capp, in the 1960s I enjoyed picking subtle digs out of his Li'l Abner comic strip. But that was more than 50 years ago, and post-mortem word has circulated he was quite the odious b*stard. Hear what Goldie Hawn has to say: https://people.com/movies/goldie-hawn-recalls-being-sexually-harassed-by-famous-cartoonist-al-capp-i-walked-out/
  4. It all comes back to how his campaign was financed, that is what can get him locked up. Curious that he has not lied about it outright, but he does dodge it. Says he didn't get the $$$ from Russia or N. Korea, but that's about it. https://www.businessinsider.com/george-santos-doges-matt-gaetz-questioning-about-his-700000-loan-2023-1?op=1
  5. Careful there! Back when Dan Quayle was on HWB's ticket someone mentioned that he's good looking so the ladies will vote for him -- it didn't go over well. I'd have to hold my nose while voting for Newsom and his slimy salesman style. I think the important thing is to 'see how they run' ( a horseracing term), see how they handle themselves in the duties outside of the campaign. I got a lot out of the Kavanaugh hearings: Amy, Kamala, and Cory Booker scratched IMO. And the at the finale when Lindsey did his "you are persecuting this man!" tirade it looked like Cory and Kamala were about to hide under the table. I guess you can call what I look for in a president is grit. Biden gets the Big Balls of the Week award for visiting Ukraine.
  6. Malaysia had 2 dogs that supposedly could sniff out pirated CDs/DVDs (maybe they could smell the mendacity ????) . There were newspaper stories that crime organizations had a reward out to anyone who would kill them. Anyone know if they are still around?
  7. I am surprised at how effective Biden is. I didn't want him to run in 2020. In fact, after watching one of the Dem primary debates I was kind of depressed because I didn't like any of them, so if he doesn't run next year it means pretty much the same pack as last time, not encouraging from my perspective. The New Age charlatan space lady would make for an entertaining presidency. Because they have have no better alternatives. I find it amazing that these people can be so cowardly and have gotten as far as they have.
  8. He owned up to his lies, his soul is cleansed and redemption was bestowed. He is no longer a dishonest person. He wants me to ask you if you would loan him US$5,000 to pay off his credit card, and he'll pay you back next week.
  9. Contact him and tell him what it is you want him to do.
  10. Kinda funny, with all this concern about face. Even in certain Latin American countries cops can be reluctant to hit up foreigners out of concern for the country's image. One Brit fellow told me he was stopped for speeding, the cop told him he's going to let him off because he didn't want the Brit to go back to his country and tell people how the cops in Brazil are b*stards. I would think there'd be more of that kind of vanity here.
  11. Waiting him to backtrack and say what he really said is he lied terribly. Or terribly-ish. ????
  12. Do your own test: see how CNN handles this, and then see how Fox does. You decide on which is descending. I have to correct myself here -- Fox may not mention it at all.
  13. Unfortunately in the US at this time a report like this one will get branded by the right-wing press as anti-business and creeping communism.
  14. In June it'll be 8 years since The Orange Dawn and he still is at 35%. People camped out at Dealey Plaza awaiting the resurrection of JFK Jr, and possibly his father. On a bonkers scale of 1 to 10 this one gets a 12. They think he has been sent by god, and whatever comes up against him they'll defend him like a good-for-nothing son. And send him $$$ -- IMO just that, anyone who has to punch a timeclock to make their living that gives their money to a (alleged) billionaire is indeed a sorry case. If you've been watching news about the Ohio train wreck check out the people who live in that town, they are big-time supporters. As one veteran journalist puts it, it used to be a politician caught in a lie was a scandal, then somewhere around the year 2000 it became a scandal was something that came about when a politician told the truth. His comments on his believers are pretty funny, like how he hates to shake hands with "all those disgusting people," his disappointment with the 1/6 seditionists who "looked like slobs," and the hits just keep on comin'.
  15. Al Jazeera has a documentary about a Thai official who blew the whistle and exiled himself to Australia. https://www.aljazeera.com/program/101-east/2022/4/21/thailands-fearless-cop
  16. Maybe they can call it something like Serpico Syndrome, where the corruption and all the behavior that supports it drives the decent ones crazy. Or to depression.
  17. There is always a little bit of incentive to keep things in working order. ???? It's usually the taxis parked on the street in front of hotels: if they can't clip you they won't take you.
  18. I would have thought he would side with Putin. He seems to have a thing for misunderstood villains.
  19. McAllen is a border town. Kind of funny how this thing traversed the solar system and when it hit Earth it managed to avoid Mexico by a few miles. I suspect somebody in Mexico was reading about the fireworks festival in Yasothon and came up with a way to get across. ???? Two feet wide when it hit the ground, or when it entered the atmosphere?
  20. I still suspect that DT has a reward out for whoever produces the magic key (like in a video game) that is going to unlock whatever is in the way of his being reinstated (sic). It's probably a billion bucks, which is why these dipsticks agree to represent him: with $$$ like that it won't matter if they are disbarred. Getting the client to cough it up, well, another matter entirely.
  21. Oh boy, ramping up! Subpoenas issued! Real nail-biting and edge-of-the-seat action! You know how the news sites have links to other articles on the same topic? Today I clicked one that said "T____ indictment imminent!" It was dated March 2021. 2+ years and counting since the Capitol was attacked, 6+ years since the inauguration, arguably his first egregious act was on that day pocketing inauguration funds, and the hits just keep on coming. "Oooo, look what he did now!" Georgia trial no sooner than November -- nice move, bought him nearly a year, which means no judgement until next year, oh, but wait, it's an election year, so that's yet another year, 2025, and if he gets back into the WH (note: I did not use the word elected) either it all gets scrubbed or back to square one in 2029. Forget about justice, we'll probably have to settle for just keeping the blackguard out of office. They can at least lock up his verminous abettors. I'm sticking with my prediction that this will drag on thru the next decade, I hope I'm wrong. What happened to the concept of a "speedy trial?" Even the Dominion case looks looks like it is making progress.
  22. Chinese nationals, four Laotians, Thai authorities. But what's with the white guys on the scene?
