  1. Did the Thai PM, his daughter, share any secrets with her criminal father? Investigate them both!
  2. Just general advice, after I bought a couple of helmets in Thailand. - Make sure it really fits - Make sure you have 100% peripheral vision. Many helmets give you less than 100% peripheral vision to the left and right. You need that! - Consider an open face helmet. It doesn't protect you as good as a full-face helmet but it's not so blo@#@$ hot. - Where will you put the helmet when you park somewhere? Especially expensive helmets are more likely to get stolen.
  3. Many calculators are from AC companies, and it seems they like to give you a reason to buy a bigger model. In my experience the size of the room is less important than the windows size and especially the where the windows are. Big windows with direct sunlight are what heats up the room. What I didn't find on any calculator is what temperature you want and when. Do you want to cool down your room to 24 degrees or 20 degrees? And do you want to have the low temperature in the middle of the day when the sun is shining in your window or only at night when it's a lot cooler outside?
  4. I am too old for this, and not a woman and not her target audience. But I wonder who is interested in that woman and her kitchen and whatever. Does anybody really want to be just like her? Really?
  5. Some time ago when I had my Beurer device similar to the picture above, I measured my blood sugar with that device a few minutes before my blood was drawn by a nurse for lab analysis. The values were relatively near to each other. I didn't try this many times, so I don't know if that is usual.
  6. I received my new ACCU-CHEK Instant. It's easy to use and has an app to connect to. I won't use it regularly so I will get some experience with it but probably not enough to report here.
  7. I think the problem is sometimes when we can't really check if the parts are original or parts which look like the original and maybe even in a bag and box like the original, but they are lower quality.
  8. I have little experience with houses "up country". But I remember a discussion in this forum not long ago when someone asked about the cost of building a house. I made some recommendations (based on my experience with my condominium renovation in Bangkok) about high quality products and work. Several members in this forum told me that all that is irrelevant because up county people build comparatively cheap and not to a high standard. That is why I wrote above. I am sure some people want good quality, but it seems many are satisfied if it looks good - without looking at the details.
  9. That brings up the question what kind of quality standard you expect. It seems many here think that a house built in the fields must be the same bad standard like everybody else. If that is what you want, fine. But if you want high standard parts and high standard work, this is very difficult in Thailand. And many locals won't even understand what it means.
  10. I was in that area a long time ago, so maybe the following is not up to date. That far south of Thailand is not really Thailand. You can read about the history of Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat to get an idea about them. There are people out there who want to separate from Thailand - since decades. When I was there nobody wanted to travel in the dark because of the risk of attacks. If any of this is new to you then better check again where you want to go.
  11. I think sex in the sea water on the beach is the preferred alternative. Everybody can "see" what is going on, but in reality, they don't actually see it. It's fun.
  12. Have you considered living in Thailand in a rented house for some time so that you have time to learn about things. It seems too many foreigners in Thailand make the same mistakes all over again because they have no clue. And you won't become an expert by reading a couple of posts in this forum.
  13. Thai journalist should interview her on TV and social media about those handbags. Does she think it's necessary to have a different one for every day? Or is that to show her status or what?
  14. I wonder if those foreigners will enjoy more time in Phuket - and I mean on the streets and not in the ICU.
  15. I wonder how many Thais think about where all that money comes from.
  16. Mostly I agree with you. But it seems in the article above they somehow think that gay drug users are different. I have to admit I don't have much information about that community, but IMHO drug users are drug users, independent of their sexual orientation.
  17. Why is anybody listening to that South African guy? Just let him talk and ignore him. Obviously, that will hurt his ego, but who cares?
  18. I wonder how many cars Musk will sell to anybody not radical right if he goes on like that.
  19. The problem is obviously that Musk can get away with that. He can buy anything and everybody. He can buy any election.
  20. That's how real Americans look like. Don't you know that? I love the transformation from this guy:
  21. Obviously that LGBTQ+/- community is special. Yeah, sure.
  22. I have a good heart and would give you one of those bones. 😉
  23. Vivek Ramaswamy: “A culture that celebrates the prom queen over the math olympiad champ... will not produce the best engineers” But obviously real Americans like Steve Bannon don't want to accept reality.
