  1. Sort of on topic, re blackouts, You must live near me, because exactly the same happens here at least twice a week. Once a month it is a drunk Somchai taking a power pole out at about 8 at night.
  2. My Wife always says they are only in it to get easy money, nobody ever knows what policies they support, then when they are voted in we never, ever, see them again.
  3. Someone had to do it.....................
  4. I would put that in the category of a miracle if you actually managed to penetrate their brains.
  5. It is all a plot by the Government to lower the education standards. They need to do this after the growth in the internet has seen so many young Thais learning so much about the world outside the Kingdom....
  6. I admit to not being a big fan of jet ski's. This one, if silent, will surely be more dangerous to swimmers than one you can hear coming. Having said that, if used in a controlled area then I guess the benefits of no exhaust, and noise would be beneficial to other people around.
  7. Sorry to disappoint him, but if he came around the area I reside in he will not get the welcome he is wanting. Deranged, deluded, despotic autocrat.
  8. That definitely would not work in Thailand, There is no way Somchai is going to double s production to four days....
  9. I would check up on what exactly the Immigration at Blueport does. I know that they are a limited service as a satellite office. Sorry I cannot be more specific as to exactly what they do, but I would not want to pass on erroneous information.
  10. The clutch was worn out, and she took back under guarantee.......I was under the impression that a clutch, brake pads , etc. are not warranted, especially after two years.
  11. They have decided to build a large revolving platform at arrivals. As you go around on this platform there are large bins for you to deposit your wallets, then at the end you are filtered off to departures. That way they get your money without the added problem of actually having to deal with tourists.
  12. I thought the law was in place that children had to be in a booster seat.............or is it not being implemented yet.
  13. I am by no means a lawyer, so professional advice would be the way to go. Having said that it seems that a lease on the land is possibly more secure than a userfruct. Good Luck.
  14. I was led to understand as the house was in my name, the land in my Wife's. Therefore, she could not sell the land from under me, as I had a right to live in the house as per a userfruct. However, on closer examination, I have discovered that in Thai law under clauses 1469, governing property between spouses, the Court can nullify the userfruct as a division of the assets.
  15. I think it was more a case of a fee to speed up the process. We had our selling agent there, and we were hustled from one desk to another. In and out, all done in less than one hour.
  16. Yes it is, We did it several years ago in Hua Hin. I know it is valid as we sold the property last year, and I had to sign a paper in the land office, and pay something around 1500 B to have it nullified.
  17. They do in our village, and surrounding areas. The problem is, and they always tell me, is that the Government has the guns.
  18. In Hua Hin, yes.
  19. Oh, how very convenient. R.I.P. Old Man
  20. Good sarcasm, but you do have a point re the boys in brown.
  21. Some people are so lucky if that is all they have to worry about in this world.....Pathetic............
  22. My Apologies, I had a sudden feeling of credence for the Embassy, but I am back in the real world now. Thank you.........
  23. They have no faith in the powers of Somchai the mechanic .Give him one week and a tin of filler, all will be good to go....
  24. Not even anything overweight, and ugly sharing your bed........or God forbid, someone with bigger tackle than you........
