  1. Yeah, I'd go with this. Ignore what I said. 🙂
  2. Didn't read all replies, but I wouldn't leave it as it'll get harder as time moves on... then you'll look like a right donkey when you awkwardly ask her out and she knocks you back. It should be done off the cuff with humour. The LINE thing seems to be the 'easiest' way to do it nowadays (here)... asking if they want to eat can be a bit full on. I also fancy my local pharmacist btw... Muslim, to boot!
  3. Bit harsh, Mike. While it is nice to talk on occasion and is what we’re all about, calling is a bit old school, a proper boomer thing. It has nothing on face to face communication and puts people on the spot. It is such a demanding endeavour. I want your time, NOW! If you must, just be sure to give them warning before you want to tell others what you had for breakfast… 🙂
  4. Op, you're well out of there; sounds like a right hole regards pool and policies and having a c,nt as a landlord is never nice. Just let the insurance sort the gate and make sure you get your deposit back... I'm sure he'll wriggle out of it though. They should be having contracts translated for foreign tenants... signing something of that nature you cannot read is never a good idea. Just move on and keep an eye out for the ideal place. Guess addresses on licenses should be up to date, but one has to renew so often anyway, just do it next time.
  5. Well gambling are drinking is obligatory for the overnighters during funeral ceremonies, and I bet you a hot cross bun to a pound of ripe bananas that lawmakers also partake. Super loud music and partying at temples; inconveniencing local residents, keeping school kids up. Is that Buddhism? It would need a fundamental change to stamp it all out. All for protecting Buddhism here though. The less Christian and Islamic influence the better.
  6. Pollutants, pollen? Whenever I’m in UK I get a bit wheezy due to the above. Tried antihistamine, like loratadine?
  7. Aisle seat near toilets, don’t drink, ear plugs, pull blanket over head. Why overthink it?
  8. I wish my life were so mundane that having a pair of shoes (flip-flops) nicked would be a big deal. If they won’t go under the seat or no basket, at least plonk them on the footwell or carry the F things! Clearly done it for likes to his channel or whatever.
  9. For the target demographic; flights, baht, hotels, beer too expensive in KSR compared with yesteryear, plus the euros have far less money in their pockets. Surprised they can't fill it with Chinese.
  10. Probably made in America. USA, USA! lol.
  11. For sure, but how would you feel if you missed an important hospital appointment, meeting, flight etc?
  12. Thais really need to get beyond this kind of thinking. It was the worst kind of avoidable accident with tragic loss, but causing numerous people to be stressed and inconvenienced in such a manner is not the way to go about things.
  13. Pool chlorine killing the bacteria?
  14. There seems to be a common denominator here. As for communicating feelings and complicated issues to a Thai lady... even if your Thai is spot on, probably not wise to go there.
  15. Musk is bang on. He should be running Britain. Heck, I'd sooner have a baboon in charge than the unfeeling, smug git that is currently in Number 10 ... BY DEFAULT!!
  16. Doesn’t matter. I’ve had cabin baggage checked & swabbed Dubai in-transit, or they could’ve had a tip-off. If positive, they’d haul his checked in bags. He’d be banged up for years.
  17. Should have gone through the red ‘Declare’ lane and asked if it’s ok to bring a packet of Mama noodles in. Less suspicious.
  18. Lucky he didn’t get nobbled in Dubai.
  19. There’s a few of these around; trolls, bots and the deluded, various countries. Some of those Dutch fellas tend to be quite ‘special’. Just put on ignore. Used to filter tap water in Chiang Mai environs and brush teeth unfiltered. Where I am in the south now, similar filter got clogged in a week, metals and all sorts, but likely the condo’s borehole and tank. Those guys that are drinking it direct, if you’re not getting nasties in there, the chlorine is not doing your gut microbiome any favours. I stopped drinking unfiltered UK tap water (which is generally very good and cool) because of it.
  20. What a load of codswallop. So Russia can continue to blast away at Ukraine from over the border AND employ soldiers from another country, but Ukraine dare not defend itself? Britain and France have both been calling for Ukraine to use their longer range missiles to help thwart attacks. Let the b’stards have it! If it were to provoke WWIII (which it won’t, they’ll threaten and threaten and wait for a Trump deal), then so be it… by sitting back, it’ll happen anyway.
  21. Yes, believe it or not. Have rarely, if ever, had a problem with them especially in recent years. My last entrance was very pleasant... the lovely young lady was most smiley apologetic on realising her error when asking how many days I'd be staying, having previously seen that I was on an ext' of stay. When I said 365, it tickled her pink. It was so gratifying that I was nearly tempted to ask for her LINE. I guess it depends who you meet and what kind of day they're having, and if the imm officer finds themself staring at an unkempt, loud, tattooed & ancient wife-beater-wearing whitey. 😋
  22. Came through couple times this year and despite long lines it was pretty quick and polite. Peak season another matter I guess. Just let the Chinese walk right in… as we all know they’re squeaky clean. 🙂
  23. Thailand Looks to Bolster Suvarnabhumi Airport That’s all AOT needed to say. Everything else in that title thereafter is superfluous.
  24. Pretty messed up reply, dude. In fact it is ‘garbled, confusing and quite frankly duller than an in-flight magazine produced by Air Belgium’ 😋 Don’t blame them for getting out there since she is erroneous and they’d be eviscerated if they tried it on here.
