Two killed and scores injured after car drives into German Christmas market
the perpetrator is anti-Islam, FYI.

Consumer injured by glass in spaghetti at Thai pizza chain
No, it isn't. Unless you and some other heated posters truly believe that all the franchises of this "pizza" chain serve regularly spaghetti with broken glass. It seems a case of some one-only accident that happened in the kitchen and the restaurant has already offered to cover all costs. Case closed, no need to shame the whole chain.

Giorgia Meloni Sparks Controversy with Remarks on Immigration and Sexual Violence in Italy
Proof that even idiots can lead a political party. Femicides are not the same as sexual violence crimes, and 20% by non-italians is still disproportionate.

President Kamala Harris
You are the one perpetuating this thread, as you keep posting over and over. If you have reasons to want it closed, contact the admin directly. Surely there must be enough forums back in the US, to discuss things largely unrelated to Asean.

Is Bitcoin going to zero?
When did I say that there is a guarantee? Like all investments with high potential for gain, there is a risk of losing. It all depends when you step in and when you want out. And by the way, real estate can lead to losses too. I simply said that your answer "invest in gold" is not a way to make money, which is what the person you were replying to wanted. But we are beating a dead horse, goodbye.

Is Bitcoin going to zero?
You start with "because" as if you are providing an answer, but actually you missed completely the question, which started with "if you like having more money ". Of course precious metals, gold in primis, are stable and the correct solution for a doomsday scenario. But after ten years (say) of owning gold, you are left with more or less what you started with - when you factor in inflation. So solid, stable, but not an answer to "having more money".

Is it possible to have the wheels on a roller suitcase repaired, and if so, where (in BKK)
Mr Bag Fix will do wheels, handles, locks, just about everything. If you drive from Big C Hang Dong to Airport Plaza, they are about halfway on the left side.

Expats and Retirees Excluded in Thailand's Citizenship Grants
It goes without saying. And yet there are people who manage to compare an expat with passport, documents, income, ability to travel and to return to their country at will, with refugees who have no papers, no means, no money to spend in bars, and break their backs to build the condos for the expats. Actually, if one really cared for Thai citizenship, expats can get it under the right circumstances.

Thailand grants citizenship to half a million people – but not farangs
I agree on strict immigration rules. However, asking to get rid of yearly extensions, 90d, TM30, re-entries... seems only logical after you have been residing here with a good record for a number of years. They waste our time and theirs. I would not mind paying 5x more, once every 5 years. Simpler online... sure, then you wake up and it was just a dream.

Italy's Offshore Migration Scheme in Albania Has Begun
I don't know much about Keir, but I can tell you that your assessment of Meloni is far from the mark. She is trying hard to please the powers that be so she can follow in the footsteps of Von Der Leyen, Rutte, Lagarde, Guterres & co. If you see Italy's response to Israel's attack on Unifil (incl. italian forces) in Lebanon, she can hardly be called patriotic. As for the OP, I read that today 16 migrants were transferred to Albania, while 1,000 landed in Lampedusa. A lot of money for very little achievement, I'd say.

7-Eleven Introduces Convenient PromptPay QR Code Payments Nationwide
it happens you are right that sometimes the banking app doesn't work. in my case, I step aside or pay cash if I have enough. but to be honest it's one out of hundred times. the other 99 times I am faster than some of the posters here trying to pay a 36.55 item with a 1000 note and waiting for the cashier to compute and check and re-check the change, Personally I always avoided 7-11 because I hate small coins back. Maybe I'll finally shop there too.

Anyone with a Garmin handheld GPS ?
My smartphone can do GPS and camera and maps, but you are right I have to recharge it every 120 hours, indeed it's a bit of a pain to connect it to a USB charger before I go to bed.

Cheese
There was already a recent thread on this subject here. I am not an expert on cheddar, but Go Wholesale sells a locally made one which includes a 24 mo. old "vintage" variety which seems a good buy for the price.

Harvey Weinstein's 2020 rape conviction overturned
The man is a pig, agree. He forced himself on many non-willing women, yes or very likely. And I agree with your conclusion. But don't generalize too quickly. There were also women who knew that their only talent in the film industry was their body, and accepted his offers, some for rather long periods. What the romans called "Quid pro quo". I have one particular actress in mind, who by her own account disclosed that there was no forced sex but rather consensual, carried on for years. Finally when even her body was not a hot currency anymore she jumped ship and was a leader of the metoo movement.

Chiang Mai Geriatric Hospital
Well, if your opening statement "Sriphat is a very modern building and is home to somewhere in excess of 100 specialists, all of whom are associate and assistant professors....the range of medical talent there is very impressive." referred to Sriphat IPD, then I have to conclude what we live in 2 different Chiang Mai's in parallel universes. Nothing could be more far from the Sriphat IPD that I know. Have a good day.

Chiang Mai Geriatric Hospital
To make sure, you are talking about Sriphat OPD, the new building at the end of Sirimangakalaja (sp). I concur with you, excellent place. The original Sriphat, now IPD, is however a decrepit old building with inferior services for specialist visits. I am surprised you had surgery at the new building, because I thought that (as OPD implies) they don't have overnight rooms. Unless it was a simple procedure and they sent you home the same day. I have no experience about the OP request. I would like to mention however that Bangkok Hospital CM is at least at the same level as the new Sriphat, actually in my experience better, although pricey. Both Sriphat OPD and BHCM offer packages of full tests tailored for seniors.

Chemical face peel
I guess it depends on where you are/which hospital. I do it (for medical reasons) at RAM Hospital in CM, 270B, face only. They apply a kind of gel, 7 minutes, you wash it off. It requires prescription.

Blood Test and water
It depends on the kind of blood test. If they told you that, best follow their instructions. If you want(ed) to argue, then better find out first exactly what tests they are going to carry out.

Availability of olive oil, canned tomatoes, and cheeses in Chiang Mai
If you fancy a drive to Airport Plaza in CM, next to it there is a huge GO Wholesale which has no shortage of the ingredients you are looking for. It is a bit like Makro, except with very little queues at cashier and better food (IMO).

Getting to the airport on Monday 15
Both official taxis and grab-like drivers know exactly what is going on. get whichever you prefer, allow for 30min more than usual just in case. There are ways to go from Warorot to Airport avoiding the moat, Huay Kaew, Nimman. e.g. heading to B11, direction of Promenada, then easy splash-free main road towards Airport Plaza. I expect the airport itself to be actually rather quiet since all Songkran arrivals have already happened and departures not yet.

Portrait photographer
You seem to look for a professional, not just a shop doing portrait pictures, right? Check out this, he is established in CM since many years and author of photography books https://albertocosi.com/portrait-photography-chiang-mai/

90 Day walk through
Scooters can drive through, I did it several times. btw, people on foot have the same rights as people in cars. If the agent brought 6 people in a van, wouldn't it be the same issue?

Thailand and China join forces for lunar and space research
What do you mean AI image? That is the Crab Nebula, a supernova remnant which btw being about 6000 light years away is related to the article like a picture of tom yum is related to an article on Icelandic cuisine.

Hernia repair problem.
I paid about 76k in a large private hospital in CM, inclusive of all pre-op tests and post-op recovery in single room.

Looking for the 'best' ENT doctor in Chiang Mai
I don't know about "best", but I found Dr Tapanut Ariyanon (lady) at Sriphat OPD very knowledgeable and thorough, and as a plus that new building is a joy compared to some older private establishments. Mind you, this was late 2022 and my issue was actually more about T than EN.
