  1. My wife doesn't iron my clothes. Neither do I for that matter.
  2. It's 2,000 baht a month more than I give any of my in-laws. My wife and her siblings provide financial surport for their aging parents. I'm not involved at all.
  3. This is the only advice you need to listen to. Ignore everything else.
  4. Two wrongs don't make a right. By retaliating you are just as bad as them.
  5. Couple of points. Firstly, we only ever hear reports of insurance companies refusing to pay out. It is not news worthy if someone's insurance policy actually covers the cost or a claim. So it is totally wrong to assume that insurance companies rarely pay out. Secondly, insurance policies are like everything in life. You get what you pay for! If you go on to one of the many go-compare websites and choose the cheapest option then the policy is probably not worth the paper it is printed on. However, if you pick up the phone, talk to a real human being and explain everything you are planning to do, for example renting a motorcycle whilst on holiday in Thailand a taylor made policy will be drawn up for you and you will be covered. It's as simple as that. Our neighbor recently had an accident in her 6 month old Toyota four door pickup. She was over the limit and the insurance company are refusing to pay for the estimated 500,000 baht worth of damage. She broke the terms and conditions of the policy and can have no complaints. Her husband on the other hand is not best pleased...
  6. Is 52 considered elderly now?
  7. You don't have to be an expert to flag doubts over their road safety master plan. Even the village idiot knows that they will fail miserably like they do every year. The authorities are too spineless to inflict harsh enough punishments on drivers who break traffic laws and kill and maim other road users.
  8. I hoped they wiped the screen down afterwards...
  9. Whoever posted the laughing emoji on the original article is one truly sick in the head individual. For fleeing the scene, the pickup driver should be facing a lengthy prison stay. But the Thai authorities just don't have to balls to punish people like this severely enough.
  10. Xiaomi Mi TV stick or box are another option and are both Netflix certified.
  11. I would imagine that those days would be a bit early for the end of year exodus. From Friday 29th onwards would be the time to avoid.
  12. Why do you think that the HBO app is no longer available here? It certainly is on Android.
  13. I've got two different pairs of Lenovo ear pods. I've had them for a while now and for the money I can't really fault either them. One of the pairs hooks behind you ears for extra security. https://s.lazada.co.th/s.ORGtl
  14. I renewed my British passport earlier this year. 1. For proof of address I used my Thai driving license. If you are living in Thailand you have to use document with your registered Thai address and it has to be written in English. 2. I seem to remember having to sign some forms when I was there so I'm guessing he will need to go in person. 3. The staff should be able to assist him but I don't see it being a problem if he is accompanied by someone else. But that person should carry some sort of ID with them otherwise they may not be granted admission. He will also need colour photocopies of every page of his old passport.
  15. Open chat with customer care. Then within the Cleo assistant chose the applicable order number and then type "chat with customer care" then hit enter. You will then be connected direct to a real person without having to go through all the useless autobot stuff. I'm sure they then will then be able to sort out everything for you.
  16. The fish topping and gasping for air would suggest oxygen levels in the pond are too low. Not all species of fish require the same amount oxygen to survive. Can you not install some sort of pump to constantly agitate the water?
  17. Normally an insurance excess is something that you have previously agreed with the insurer. People do this to keep the insurance premium cost down. But the downside is that you are liable for this excess amount, if you need to claim. Say for example the first 5000 baht of the claim. It's also about time that the police stopped excepting to excuse "I've got no money"
  18. This has happened to me before in Chiang Mai. It's fine, don't worry about it.
  19. Paranoia is treatable. Maybe the OP should seek help.
  20. Thanks for the replies. I have decided that it's not worth taking a risk with any have purchased a new electric shower.
  21. Our bathroom's electric water heater has developed an intermittent fault. Sometimes when you turn on the isolator switch outside the bathroom the power light on the heater doesn't light up or flickers on and off. And sometimes it works normally. I've tried to reset it using the ELCB but this doesn't appear to work at all any more. It doesn't cut the power, and therefore you can't reset it. I'm wondering if something has corroded over time. Does this sound like a terminal problem or something that could be repairable? Could it be potentially dangerous!!! I have no problem buying a new one but I'm wondering whether it is worth getting someone in to check it out first. The heater is between 7 & 8 years old. The brand name is Clarte. It is earthed. Thanks in advance.🙏
  22. My wife goes fishing all the time during the wet season with a large net like the one you describe. I think some people don't understand that there is a difference between fishing and angling. Angling being the correct term when attempting to catch fish using a rod, line and baited hook.
  23. Have you tried rebooting the kindle by holding down to power button for about 20 to 30 seconds? If that doesn't work you can restore it to factory settings and then reregister with your Amazon account.
  24. This is to do with writing English, not speaking it. A whole different ball game.
