  1. You want to know who might benefit from the new tax? Just remember who's government it is now. Who's actually in charge of things behind the scenes (for now, might be at the front sooner then we all expected....)
  2. No, but you might have an issue when trying to sell it.
  3. And how's the price comparing for same job done here and in the UK?
  4. Here's 1 month of reporting to pea. Obviously it doesn't include the short few seconds off\on. About a couple of months ago we had few evenings that it went off\on 5-10 times in a very short period... One day, hopefully in the near future, I'll install a full house ups system.
  5. Have you considered changing the wife? You could always import...
  6. So in Norway, a person that comes to retire, doesn't learn the language and the culture, use all public facilities with the only contribution is his pension money coming in to support himself is automatically on the path to citizenship? I think not, but I'm not going to Google it as I have no desire to retire in Norway.
  7. 1.There's a proper pathway to citizenship in Thailand as well. It's not simple, not so easy, but there is. You have to accept and understand that Thailand is not an immigrant country by choice, and seeing what happens in Europe it is understandable. 2. There is such a thing as tax resident in every country, it in most countries AFAIK. it has nothing to do with immigrant residence. Here in Thailand, up until about 30 years ago anyone (tourists included) who stayed in Thailand for more than 180 days in a calendar year had to go to the tax department, declare income and pay tax. The "income" for tourists was calculated by the amount they declared spending in the country. 3. Most Western countries tax their citizens\permanent residents for money earned out of the country. In case of double taxation agreements they charge the balance between what was paid in the country of earning to the amount that would have been charged in country. Most people manage to avoid it by not declaring the out of country earnings. 4. The USA IRS tax Americans and green card holders on everything in and out of country. I understand the difference, I hope you do too
  8. You should test then. AFAIK you have to register your phone number with the back before you can use the app. Also, as someone already mentioned there's facial recognition for big transactions. I used both personal and biz apps of kbank. With the biz app you have to log in using the data every couple of months in order to enable wi-fi transfers to accounts not on your favourite list
  9. You could use your home country DL just the same as long as there's a pic and it's in English
  10. Yes, but it's not part of the requirements for a sale and has nothing to do with the process. A new book can be issued to replace a list one of needed
  11. It's not, and those (as many other USA involvement in souvereign countries) is wrong, and usually never ends the way the US thought it will
  12. If you no longer live here what do you need a local DL for? You can use your home country DL and international permit
  13. Got married and took his husband's name? On a serious note - there must be a paper trail of the name change. If I was in his shoes I'd bring with me the official paper trail, give the IO both passports with the old one opened to show the re-entry permit and all other relevant documents. This should suffice for the IO to give the correct stamp, maybe with a supervisor consent. If not, he should go to immigratin and try having them rectify the problem
  14. Just wait till his boss finds out how he himself can make big money out of it and it will be all legal. They'll probably make complicated rules and laws as to who can grow\sell - rules that only the boss can comply with, and then it'll be ok
  15. No, it wouldn't. What would be amazing is if they provided a solution for garbage and agricultural waste, then educate, and only then ban and fine the burners. Same as with child labour and prostitution - you can ban it all you want, but without giving an alternative it will go on as usual.
  16. Thai citizens and permanent residents MUST be registered in a blue book. Non Thai\non residents have the option to be registered in a yellow book that is issued based on the blue book of the unit.
  17. Nothing to do with selling\buying a condo or a house. The blue book is simply a form of registration of address
  18. The only issue I see is that if you get the 6-10 months payment promotion is that you have a local cc, and that means you're here on long term permit such as for work or marriage or maybe even PR. All those are not entitled for the vat refund AFAIK.
  19. I'm pretty sure they want to see the 40k in HER account in Poland, not in your account here. I only issued a "sponsor" letter once, was more of an invitation letter saying the applicant wishes to travel to Thailand and will stay with me. Nothing was said about sponsoring the guest nor any evidence of finance from my side. It was for a normal TV, not e-visa.
  20. Had a case like that over 10 years ago. The tenant stopped paying rent claiming they can't go out due to the massive flooding in BKK. After a couple of months that the agent couldn't get the money for me we set an appointment with the tenant at the agent's office. He never showed up, so after over an hour of waiting the agent and I went up to the unit to find it in a shocking state of abuse and pretty much all of the tenants belongings gone. Luckily they left a couple of things behind, one of which brought suspicions of illegal activity, so I told the agent to call him and tell him he's got 1 day to show up and pay the rent, or I'm going to the police. I also changed the lock right there and then so he couldn't get in. He called the agent (probably after trying to go in later that day) and begged to get his things back promising he'll pay later. Eventually he came, paid the rent owed, took his things and left
  21. I think that the whole idea of hooters is real women with real breasts, it at least that's how it should be....
