  1. It seems that my brief love affair for red wine may have to be ended or under stricter control because I have developed gout in my big toe and it is very painful . Apparently red wine especially can cause gout along with chicken . Now taking a course of colchicine . Never had gout drinking beer
  2. I shared a bottle of 19 Crimes Shiraz the other evening with a pal . It didn't last long . Full bodied and fruity taste . Now one of my favorites . We drank it along with a mature New Zealand cheese nibbles . A great marriage .
  3. Well , I didn't know that . The boxes say ROM 4 GB RAM 32 GB . Wizz told me they were capable of 1000 MBPS but the 3BB tech said they were low quality and old technology . Also Wizz say that the Amazon Fire Stick is a better bet to download their app .
  4. In our restaurant , the Laughing Bird is the favourite and most popular red wine drank by both European and Thai customers . Maybe it is an economic way of getting jolly ?
  5. Can anyone explain why it is that YouTube videos play in a high resolution and never buffer but every IPTV service that I have tried all buffer ?
  6. Paying for 200 Mbps V.I.P .This guarantees your speed will never drop under 200 . However my 2 smart TVs never get that . When the 3BB techs come our house they play around with various speed test companies and also connect their own tablet and phone . When they achieve a high speed I feel that I am being conned because my knowledge on this subject is not good . They stated that my equipment was too old or of a low quality , b/s . Strange thing is , I can often get 225 Mbps , using wifi on my laptop but lucky to get half that on my 2 6e Ethernet cabled smart TVs / T95 Android boxes .
  7. A good quality wine would be wasted on me because my palate cannot really know if I am drinking a fruit wine or not . Just recently I found out the benefits of Pinot Noir which has a high level of the antioxidant resveratrol . I managed to buy a bottle of Casillero del Diablo for 599 baht . Very easy to drink . I went back the next day to buy some more but someone had bought the lot , so I settled for the same companies Merlot .I just wish that I had a discerning palate to appreciate the various tastes and qualities .
  8. Let's face it . The UK is broken and it is ripe for reformation but not under this pathetic Labour government who have got the reverse Midas touch . Next UK spring by- elections will be a disaster for Labour . The Reforms Party Farage and Tice are well informed politicians and would have a close connection with the U.S.A. and trade deals . Starmer and Lammy will be the cause of tariffs for UK exports to the U.S.A. Indeed they are a couple of plonkers . Rachel from accounts is the Chancellor of the exchequer , what a farce . Musk is a pioneer who thinks outside of the box and along with Trumps input + Reform , it may just be possible to save the UK from the abyss . At the moment we have the Muppet show running the UK .
  9. Me too . Using 3BB . Without using my Surfshark VPN I get around 220 Mbps but if using the VPN it drops to 20--40 Mbps and sometimes I cannot connect to sites at all . Digressing slightly but I have considered using a sim card router because that is not affected by fibre downtime but there does not appear to be many users out there who can comment or recommend .
  10. Thai people b/p seems to be lower than Westerners . Going to my local gov; hospital , I walk across the car park and then up a steep slope to the entrance . Straight away they measure your weight , height and b/p . The b/p is always high . I have read many times that you must sit down and relax for 5 minutes and then take a b/p/test . So I always have 2 tests and the second one , after 5 minutes sat down and relaxed , is acceptable . So what is it with these Thai medics ?
  11. Such as ? In over 20 years of holidays around the Med , I never had a problem with sea creatures or rip tides .
  12. Me too . It's not the same as swimming in the Med .
  13. That's what would happen in the Western world with the C.E.O. s at risk of prison sentences . Hence , clear working procedures , risk assessments and safety officer daily presence are normal events . Health & Safety consideration were once , the least important but now because the buck stops at the top , H&S are at the forefront . But Thailand is still 50 years behind and money number 1 as always .
  14. Is Comfy easy to install on a smart tv or android box ? Does it get much buffering / freezing ?
  15. I had the same problem . They said , turn off your VPN . But it was already disconnected , I told them . They said , what browser are you using . Google Chrome I replied . They said use a different browser . I used Firefox browser and that worked . I have been using Wizz in Thailand and the UK for more than 2 years . I bought their pre-installed T95 Android box . No buffering in the UK but just lately in Thailand it has buffered quite a lot . When it comes to the bars in Pattaya that use Wizz they do not always use the Sky TV or TNT TV programmes . Tip = if you drop down the main programme lists you will come to other options to watch any Premiership game or Championship game . Something like UK EPL . The last time I watched the footy I was using the Sky channel which froze constantly . Dropped down the epg and all the EPL teams will be displayed on a grid , once you have clicked on the programme channel . Last time it was being broadcast from Hong Kong but with English commentary . It was broadcast by True / Now TV . No buffering . I have also bought a Thai IPTV android box off of Lazada . It is aimed at UK users , shows all progs and says no buffering but that is b/s . The epg is difficult to use and I will not renew . If Wizz TV is not buffering , it is brilliant . What I cannot understand is that when it freezes and you get that revolving circle , when it comes back on , it carries on from where it stopped . That suggests an IPTV problem to me . Agree ? I wish that WIZZ TV would comment about our concerns of their app . And do so on this forum because they do subscribe .
  16. Just did a speed test with my S/S VPN connected to Thailand and got 46 Mbps down and 100 up . I turned off the VPN and got 220 up and down from a Bangkok server . My main reason for using a VPN is to stop being hacked or getting a virus . Is there another way of protection ? Connected by WiFi to my standard mesh router supplied by 3BB . Do you think an upgraded router would improve matters ?
  17. yes
  18. I am with 3BB fiber and pay for V.I.P. guaranteed 200 Mbps .Bedroom TV with Ethernet often buffers using Wizz IPTV . Do a Speed Test , OOkla / Fast and they both show about 50 - 70 Mbps .No VPN is used . Daytime in my office , on my laptop using wifi , I get about 215 Mbps . Turn on my VPN ( Surf Shark ) and it drops to 20 Mbps . My phone that is using the house router , shows 200 Mbps not using a VPN . Do you think that the 50 - 70 Mbps speed in my bedroom is causing the tv buffering ? Strange thing is that when the TV programme comes back on , it picks up from where it left off , which suggests an IPTV blip ? 3BB techs said my devices were too old , Smart TV 5 years old and T95 Android box 1 year old . Techs connected their android box and after 20 minutes of playing around achieved 1000 Mbps . Is this b/s ? BTW , the bedroom TV has sometimes hit 220 Mbps speed testing .
  19. Great thanks I will search . Also can you recommend a Pinot Noir in Thailand at a reasonable price and where to buy please ?
  20. many thanks , what is their country of origin please ?
  21. New potatoes ? You mean baby potatoes that you can peel with your thumb ? As a Brit I only know Jersey new potatoes which are delicious . Where can you buy new potatoes in Thailand please ? Normally use them in salads .
  22. Thai police wages are not great but are supplemented by road side fines on low skilled Thai drivers . Hence the reason for little or no road user education . As we know , the country runs on corruption . One manoeuvre from Thais is to drive into the turn right lane but not signal until they turn . Also the motor cyclists often forget to cancel their indicators , having completed their move . I never assume anything on Thai roads . Thai road users are Jeckll & Hyde and have no consideration for other road users .
  23. 3 hours ago it was over 2.3 million . Unfortunately this petition will not force a new election , at best a Commons debate . A mass demonstration may have more effect but Starmer has already bought the railway workers , who are unlikely to make a protest , which could have had a massive impact . It's just the start of the UK winter and the first spell of bad weather . There will be no doubting of major issues for this manslaughter Labour government in the months to come . RR & KS are devils in disguise along with other cabinet members . How do you think the labour candidates will do in the new year by- elections ?
  24. Yes it happened to me also last Friday when trying to watch the footy on TNT . Normally wait for it to load and click on live tv but instead asked for my sign in and p/w which is case sensitive and a pain in the backside . The footy started again but non-stop buffering so I went to the premier game section which is further down the programme listings and there was no problem . It was being broadcast by NOW and True from Hong Kong but with English commentary . There was clearly a problem with Wizz TV
  25. I have lost count of how many times that a food item is sold out in Thai supermarkets . Anyone know how stock levels are maintained ? Rightly or wrong , I thought that an items bar code , when swiped at the checkout not only was for the ease of compiling the bill but was also sent to the data page , where if the item gets near to low stock , it is automatically reordered . That doesn't seem to be the case in Thailand , or is it ? Only recently I ordered online several packs of a frozen vegetable which I would pick up at the store . When I went to collect , there was nothing to pick up , just a " No have " from a supervisor . Although the supermarkets are generally well presented , their stock control needs attention . Does anyone have retail experience in Thailand ?
