I found 1,000bht in my wallet to be more than enough to attract a Thai lady. No need to play any tricks (or shower for that matter).

Why do Thais burn leaves and branches?

There's your mistake. -
Makro, about 5 different types in the meat cabinets and another 5 choices in the freezer. Around 350bht/Kg.

Why do Thais burn leaves and branches?
BritManToo replied to RamenRaven's topic in Farming in Thailand Forum
Because they can. -
I've been entirely happy with every Thai lady I hired to pretend to be my wife. From an hour to six years ...... they've all been great and surprisingly inexpensive. If only chocolate bars and wine were such reasonable prices in Thailand, life would be perfect.

The much younger Thai woman I pay to pretend to be my wife and love me is free to leave at any time. Plenty more younger and prettier Thai ladies waiting for their turn.

Help! Electrical cables conduit issue in wall
BritManToo replied to djlest's topic in The Electrical Forum
My house has 4mm wires (each with their own MCB) to the A/c, water heaters and oven. 2.5mm to everything else. -
I've not had an income in excess of $2,000/month since the year 2000. But I've managed to live without working while supporting a family and kids for the last 22 years. My definition of 'rich' isn't working 60-70hrs a week to support huge debt repayments, while worrying that a month of illness will wipe you out. Rich, IMHO, is being able to live without having to work.

With gold falling is buying Thai real estate a better bet
BritManToo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News Headlines
Sounds like a good deal to me, I got nothing when my marriage 'broke down' in the UK and my house was worth 20,000,000bht. Back to the OP, Forget gold, buy shelf stable foods (rice/tins), seal it in plastic bins. When TSHTF (not long now) it'll be worth more than gold. -
I certainly enjoy my yearly trips to immigration.

Go on holiday for a week, hotel does TM30 (as legally required), extend VISA while there, job done. As far as I can see there is no 'minimum time' to live in an area required to get a retirement extension.

They only look at the fuse box, if that. PS. wear workman's gloves then your hands won't look like that. -
No Country For Old Men. Certainly not Thailand.

More to do with devaluing the product they are selling. Nobody would buy old soft apples if they were offered fresh crisp apples. -
Help! Electrical cables conduit issue in wall
BritManToo replied to djlest's topic in The Electrical Forum
Nothing you do will protect wires from a drill/screw/nail going through. An air gap is more important to allow heat to dissipate if the wire gets hot. Conduit is used to discourage vermin chewing the wires. -
Help! Electrical cables conduit issue in wall

Single core 4mm, I pay 100bht for 10m, glue a strip of plasterboard over the top to cover/level then render, forget the conduit. -
It's not as easy though. Let's face it most guys are lazy (including me). I just want a woman under 35 years old and weighing less than 50Kg, so I can just walk into any Pattaya bar and there'll probably be one there. Up in Chiang Mai, I'd need to visit 5 bars to find one. In KK at least 5 bars, and they'll probably be spread over at least 2 streets so 'd have to walk further. It's not as if an extra 500-1000bht is a deal breaker for me. As for nice ........ I always want the mean looking ones.

Never tell anyone in the west where you are, or what you're doing. I'm enjoying my last years much more than I even anticipated. Surprisingly, I'm enjoying them more than my younger years. Thailand has been the best days of my life.
