Thawing UK Frozen Pensions
BritManToo replied to hotandsticky's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I fly back to the UK and get my passport in person from their London office, the whole process takes 2-3hrs. Its only once every 10 years. -
Several AN posters applied by post from Thailand during COVID, they all had long delays in payment. I applied online at the same time as them, and was paid exactly on time.

I grew a Lemon Kush feminised photo-period outside my grow tent as I ran out of space and it went a bit mad size wise, just using the light from the nearby window, and spill from the grow tent. Ended up 6' tall and grew a lot of flower, germinated in Feb, finished in June. This is it still in veg phase.

As THC is now legal you can smoke it discreetly, unless you get caught carrying it there is no way for anyone to test how it entered your system, legally through medicinally smoking, or illegally using recreational extracts.

Just give them any UK address ..... they don't check. In fact the DWP admit they have no current address for 40% of pensioners. -
What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2022)

Watched the entire season of 'Joe Pickett'. More of a 'Hallmark Movie', bad bad acting, poor production standards, silly plot, laughable bad guys, nice scenery. -

how do you invest now when there is a gloomy inflation already started?

Don't know about condos, but between 10%-20% of houses in my moobaan (250 homes) appear to be abandoned and overgrown. The house next to me has never had an occupant (8 years) since it was built. And these are all Thai owned! -

No I mean Death Certificates as they are the way the DWP finds out you are dead if a pensioner living in the UK. For pensioners living/dying outside the UK the DWP doesn't automatically get informed of deaths. -

I would say you friend was mistaken, and if he was really sent a life certificate it was because they suspected him of living outside the UK. Never let anyone know you are living outside the UK, not your bank, doctor, friends, relatives, or any government agency. Don't 1. post using your real name on social media. 2. use UK issued debit/credit cards to purchase items or in ATMs regularly outside the UK. 3. renew your passport/driving licence outside of the UK. 4. phone up any official/agency/bank from outside the UK. I even go so far as to keep a London landline number through Skype ($90/year), so they can call me in the UK, and I can call them from the UK. If you were with your friend in Thailand when he called the DWP how did he call them? ..... you know they can see where calls are coming from (unless you use a Skype UK landline number). -
As an old, white, heterosexual male ...... I don't fell welcome or safe on Social media (including this forum) either. Which is why I never reveal any information that will identify me. I don't tell anyone I encounter socially in real life my name, contact details or where I live either. There's a lot of nutters out there looking to hate on someone.

None of the UK pensioners I know have ever heard of them (and I know plenty). Death certificates issued in the UK are connected to the National Office of Statistics which shares information with the DWP. -

Life certificates aren't required or issued to pensioners living in the UK. So just a story, and not a very convincing story.- 174 replies

Everything I ever planted in Rockwool failed. On the other hand, I planted this tray on Sunday half using Jiffy pellets, and half using peat moss/bag soil mix (50/50). The first seed (pineapple) germinated in peat/soil in less than 48hrs. -
Obviously a Thai racial slur against white folk is best not used in a forum read mainly by white folk. Down with institutional racism!

Medical doctors aren't generally scientists, most don't do any research. What they do is regurgitate information passed to them by big Pharma (rewards given for pushing certain products) and follow instructions issued by their government (bonus paid for reaching target percentages of patients treated). This opinion formed from wide experience with English doctors, it may not apply to Thai doctors.

Depends on your age. If you're 60+, probably not much point in buying anything. Then you need to think carefully about buying a home in a county where you have no right to reside. -
