You mean that you chose to stay in the UK when Covid and the lockdown hit. There was no restrictions on anyone leaving the UK who had a long term visa in Thailand. You would of course have had to quarantine in Thailand on arrival. I myself visited the UK between July and November 2020 and July and October 2021. No restrictions just quarantine

I havnt visited Jomtien immigration for at least 2 years as I have had an agent get my retirement extension and reentry permits, I do 90 day online. Yesterday Tuesday at 09.45, as I have a new passport I needed to transfer the stamps. What a breath of fresh air. A new building on the left with a large desk greeting you staffed by 4 people, giving you the correct queue number and any forms. There is also full air con to sit if required and a photocopying area. The building in the middle the main building is the same as before but not busy at all. I had desk 8 ticket 22, it was on 21 already. A quick check of the photocopies and given a ticket to come back today after 1pm. Easy. There is a 3rd building on the right for 90 day reports and TM30. Well done Jomtien a totally professional easy experience.

what you do with your house when you are away in thailand?
jimn replied to parafareno's topic in General Topics
Oh come on use common sense. I have since 2013 been coming to Thailand for 8 months a year. June to Sept inclusive. From the UK. 1. I leave key with neighbour with my and my sons contact details 2. My mail just builds up 3. I turn the mains water off 4. I leave the thermostat on about 12°c and have the water and heating come on for 15 mins twice a day. The heating only clicks in if its colder than 12° c. 5. I have 3 stand alone lights in different rooms programmed with a plug in timer. In the 10 years of doing this I have had no issues at all. -
You dont need Google maps use your eyes pal, they are all over the place in Pattaya.

What has happened to the good old Xananax. Half a tablet and you will sleep for around 6 hours. I know its techically a banned substance now in Thailand but its freely available if you enquire around. Failing that an Atarax tablet works just as well. Available cheap from the pharmacy.

Change visa stamps to new passport
jimn replied to jimn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thanks for the replies guys. Its clear there is no common process and again it depends on the individual office. I renewed my British passport whilst I was in the UK this summer and I can confirm there was no letter asking for the stamps to be transferred. I think just in case I will print out and complete the form I attached and get the relative photocopies in advance just in case they are required. -
Can anyone confirm that you need this form to transfer stamps at immigration with all the photocopies of previous stamps etc. Or do you just roll up with the old and new passports and they change them over. 22.Transfer-Stamp-to-New-Passport-Form.pdf

In my experience its always Thai's playing music on the beach, normally on a Thai bank holiday when all the brainless families come down from Bangkok to get drunk on the beach and drive back. Shouting at each other even if the person they are speaking to is sitting next to them. If you want to listen to music play it via headphones and dont disturb everyone else. I like beach to be peaceful and relaxing, not a warzone.

Just giving my 2 pence worth. I use an agent, 12,900 baht because. (1) I split my time 8 months Thailand and 4 months UK. (2) I am asset rich and cash poor. I dont have 400k/800k to leave in a Thai bank but I own outright my UK house £350k and with my Thai wife our house in Thailand 7 million baht. (3) I have a net UK monthly income of £2300 or just over 100k baht (4) I dont wish to transfer 65k over a month. Much rather pay by no fee credit card where I can and transfer over via Wise 10,000 baht for cash when I need it.

Transferring Visa to a New passport
jimn replied to steveb5's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I hope you can make sense with all the pedantic replies. You say visa but what you really mean is your extension of stay stamp (this is not a Visa) and your arrival stamp. Yes this can be transferred free by filling in the form quoted. I hope this answers your question which many posters like to give you a confused answer to make themselves look clever. -
Lo you are so funny. No one gets invited to a Gentleman's Club, you just go there. Its just a posh name for a bar in an enclosed environment, with hostesses. By the way a new site with a list of venue's in and around Pattaya for everyone's information. https://www.gentsclubs.com/?fbclid=IwAR39RPkYpeAY0-jk-KxdKi9HKXNwcVKgNbgvmc3U4fhES0z7vlfVV0MFlpY

An agent will do it for 1,500 all in, if you dont want the hassle of going there.

Total BS. I met my Thai wife when she was 19 now 31, there was no suggestion that this was illegal. -
You will always get buffering via a firestick unless the wifi is of excellent quality. I have Wizz TV but I run it via an Android box and an ethernet cable. Its perfect no buffering at all.

Non o multi London, wrong name.
jimn replied to kelboy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I understand that. I dont think his ability to spell is flawed, its his attention to detail. Most people check thier spelling before they post, especially if using a mobile. I personally make many errors, but correct them when I proof read before posting. I suspect this gentleman simply made an error and misspelt his own name.
