Yes thanks for correcting me. I checked with the the ther well known agent I use on Soi Baukau, the requirement to go to immigration after the bank for the photo is not now required. I dont know why you have to pay a 1,640 extra baht, last year I only paid the set 12,500 fee.

Good report but sorry way too much hastle for me. Tomorrow I will pop into Pattaya and employ my usual agent. A trip to the bank for an hour and after a quick escorted visit to immigration and lo behold a brand new extension of stay based on Retirement for 12,500 baht the next day. I bet the OP paid only a little short of that with all the hassle. Of course if he is under 50 years it will be a different matter.

Ask for Apcalis or google various other names. Also many street sellers sell and despite the scare mongering its normally the generic versions and works perfectly well.

They are cracking down on the illegal chinese who are the mafia type of people and try to launder their money over here, run businesses and lets be frank are here illegally on mass. As the topic says I have had a bad stomach for 2 weeks now. It stared with bad nausia and I was vomiting and followed by bad diarriha. I have also had stomach pain and a feeling of being full all the time. I can control it by taking immodium which has allowed me to go to the gym but if I stop the diarriha comes back. It is getting very frustating now. I have tried Norfloxacn 400 tablets and also a course of Azithromycin, neither has worked. Any ideas on what I could try I would rather avoid the doctor or hospital. @Sheryl

One of the reasons why I never get a re entry at the airport its so risky when you have a flight to catch. Easy to do at immigration and even easier if you get an agent to do it for an extra 200 baht at the same time as you get your extension of stay.

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS (especially you people up in the North West) Mae Sai - Tachileik Border w/Burma Just so we're 100% clear on this; even though they announced the Mae Sai / Tachileik border crossing with Burma is open, in reality, (for all practical purposes) it is NOT open for foreigners to bounce in and out at ???? By that I mean, it's not open like it was pre covid (Mar 2020). You cannot just show up pay for the day pass, bounce out-n-back with Burma and stamp back into Thailand. You have to BUY a visa for Burma before you show up at that border. You also need a negative covid test & proof you were vaccinated. So that means before you decide to bounce there, you get a real visa to get in, either at a Burma consulate here or via the Burma eVisa website. That makes bouncing out-n-back at that border not that attractive for the "budget conscious" travelers ???? The ONLY border with thailand and burma that is open like it was before is the Mae Sot / Myawaddy border in Tak province. You can bounce out and back there for 500 baht. no visa or anything required to get stamped in and out of burma. For all other border bouncing you people up in the Northwest need to do it in Chiang Rai province with Lao. Use either Chiang Saen (where you cross in-n-out of Lao by boat) or Chiang Khong / Huay Xai (where the friendship bridge is). From Todd Danials on Thai Visa advice

I first see it last week when a neighbour across the road invited me come and see the Iion. As the village is on a hillsde the back walls are about 3 feet smaller on his side. You can look directly over into the property and see the Lion. It was just lying there free, no chain anything. You have to understand this is a modern development and there are walls around the properties. You can see into everyones garden unless trees or plants block the view.

Why do you think that there are stray dogs here. This Lion is in a house in a private gated village of over 100 houses. There are zero stray dogs, all the dogs are on a leash when they walk with their owners. I live in this village and I assure you we are all concerned about what will happen when this animal gets bigger. The property walls are not high enough and their is only a small cage. The owner is an irresponsible Mafia type guy who has only got the animal to make himself in his opinion look good. Only yesterday it was running around the grounds freely playing with some woman as I walked past with my dog. Its not going to end well. The lady in an adjoining property is terrified as her husband is returning to the UK for a few months work on Sunday. This needs sorting now.
