  1. That is not correct. When the restictions were in place I returned on a retirement extension with proog of marriage. Yet again your posts are incorrect.
  2. Thats not exactly correct. If you had a retirement extension but were married you had the same right to enter Thailand as someone on a marriage extension.
  3. I am afraid that as well meaning as you are, you are very naive about how this works. @Tod Danielshas given you the answer tight at the start of the thread. There are no lawyers who will be able to help and no large brown envelopes. Your so called friend has and is acting like a child. He needs to man up and take his ban by leaving via the airport immediately. Then after his ban is served and he grows up a bit, maybe he can come back.
  4. Having seen your naive posts over the years I am sure you are referring to yourself pal.
  5. Not the case in Pattaya. Last April my wife's Thai friend came to visit for a few weeks from Sweden. She wanted to rent a motorbike whilst she was here. My wife drove here around all afternoon without success. No Thai only Farang was the standard reply.
  6. Come on guys. A yellow book and a pink card have absolutely no benefits. Why people go to the trouble of getting, I have no idea.
  7. So you had a wasted morning, what else did you expect? In and out in 5 mins? My last visit to Jomtien was a few weeks ago. I turned up at 09.45 to get my extension stamp transferred to my new passport. I was out of there by 10.00. Picked up my passport the next day. Easy
  8. No chance mate, makes me wonder where you have been drinking. £7 for 2 pints more like it. Yes Wetherspoons are cheap but other places only a little bit more. When I waa in London in September I didnt pay nothing like £7.50 a pint.
  9. Granted I have never done a 30 day extension but its standard at Jomtien for a retirement extension. As an aside I always wonder why people go to immigration so early in the day. You gain absolutely nothing as many other people have the same idea. I have always gone about 09.30 no queues minimal waiting same deal, come back later to collect.
  10. Where did you go to drink that? The Ritz? I struggle to think of anywhere in the UK where you would have to pay £15 for a beer and a shandy. In a Wetherspoons it would be about £6 or £7, even in an expensive pub, no more than £12. Maybe you went to an exclusive club like Claridges.
  11. This is nonsense. I am assuming the guy is over 50. Just pay an agent and change from a marriage to a retirement extension. The agent will take care of the funds in the bank. Much cheaper than going home where an uncertain future awaits.
  12. I sometimes think people who deal with the hassle of paying their bills must be bored and need something to do to fill there days. I pay my internet, Water and Electric by direct debit. You set it up and forget about it. I check to see if its all gone through if I have a need to go into the banking app. Easy.
  13. I expect some 2 bit websites to publish incorrect info, but coming from an official source like the Thai embassy is unacceptable.
  14. Absolutely disgracefull that the embassy can publish incorrect information.
  15. Note you only need a re entry permit to keep your permission to stay valid if the Non OA is expired. If within the validity of the visa a re entry is not required.
  16. You are correct it is, however many Thai's also take the Friday before the weekend making it a 4 day holiday. I take your point though as technically you are correct.
  17. You picked a bad day to go. Friday was a Thai holiday. Go back another time and maybe plan your visit better.
  18. Yes Phitsanuluk the hub of Thailand. I would imagine the number of Farangs living there would be relatively small.
  19. Why are you commenting on something that obviously happened years ago. Its not relevant.
  20. A far better option is Pattaya City that should be able to accomodate direct insurance billing. Cheaper than The Memorial nowdays.
  21. I was on a marriage extension for years. At first it was just a case of showing a photo of us outside the house. A few years ago they changed the requirements. At first they needed a photo of us in bed. Now they need 2 photo's to prove that we actually engage in marital activities. Problem is they need different photo's and positions every year. I have bought a copy of the Kama Sutra to give me some new ideas as its getting a bit stressful now at my advanced age of 100 years old.
  22. Download the VYKE app on your phone. Top it up with credit and you can call any landline or mobile in the world. You can even buy a virtual sim number in most countries. Its very cheap.
  23. I really wouldnt worry. I have seen immigration forms issued by immigration which had someones passport copy on the reverse side. Copies passport are a major thing over here.
  24. Well as I have said before, I entered Thailand on 6th November. I am married to a Thai and I have a retirement extension. My initial comment was that the OP did not have an "enforced" period out of Thailand, it was certainly not as long as indicated.
  25. Yes they did close their borders to foreigners but not for long. All I know is that I left Thailand for the UK on July 10th 2020 and returned 6th November 2020 (14 days quarantine). I was then in Thailand until July 1st 2021 I went to the UK and returned to Thailand October 6th 2021 (7 days quarantine)
