That's the plan. American businesses and consumers (including MAGA rubes) will pay tariffs, and the money collected will finance text cuts for (mainly) the rich! The most affected will be the lower classes which spend most of their revenues because there's not much money to spare, and buy cheap imported goods. They also pay little tax, so tax cuts won't help them.

It confirms how corrupt and incompetent they are. NB. The fired FAA administration has been the first to increase the recruitment t of ATCs since nearly two decades! -

Gag! Trans Black Hawk pilot forced to respond after she's falsely identified as D.C. crash captain A transgender helicopter pilot was forced to respond after she was falsely identified as the captain of the Black Hawk that crashed in Washington, D.C. Jo Ellis has served in the Virginia National Guard for 15 years and on Friday found herself the subject of thousands of false social media posts claiming that she was the third crew member aboard the helicopter that collided with the passenger jet, carrying 64 people. She resorted to posting a “proof of life” vide https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/helicopter-pilot-jo-ellis-trans-black-hawk-dc-crash-b2690385.html -

The problem with imposing tariffs on a large number of countries at the same time, is that you find out that a large share of your exports are subject to retaliatory tariffs, while the other countries are only taxed on their exports to the U.S. Exports to Canada and Mexico represent 34% of U.S. exports. Exports to Canada, Mexico, China, the EU, and UK represent more than 60% of U.S. exports! Of course, Trump is too dumb to understand that! 😆 https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/exports-by-country

FAA’s Diversity Policies Under Fire After Deadly Air Collision
candide replied to Social Media's topic in World News
From the OIG report, it is obvious that the FAA has been struggling for years to find enough qualified applicants for ATC positions. They could not recruit enough to meet the target. These plaignants have likely been rejected because they were not qualified, not because of their race or gender. -

candide replied to bannork's topic in Political Soapbox
This DEI explanation is irrelevant as the FAA's problem is simply to get enough qualified ACTs, whatever their race or gender. https://www.oig.dot.gov/sites/default/files/FAA Controller Staffing and Training at Critical Facilities Final Report-06-21-23.pdf https://www.faa.gov/newsroom/faa-hits-air-traffic-controller-hiring-goal -

Suuuure! Look on the graph how the number of controllers decreased under Trump (after Obama), and started to increase under Biden https://www.oig.dot.gov/sites/default/files/FAA Controller Staffing and Training at Critical Facilities Final Report-06-21-23.pdf The FAA also exceeded targets in 2023/2024 and recruited 1800. https://www.faa.gov/newsroom/faa-hits-air-traffic-controller-hiring-goal But don't let facts get in the way of a good MAGA story! 😆 -

Complete B.S. 😆 The Chinese have failed in the Arctic. In Greenland they have been blocked since 2018. The EU in 2019, Denmark in 2021, and soon Greenland, have implemented investment screening laws to protect infrastructures, energy and critical resources, in particular from China and Russia. https://investmentpolicy.unctad.org/investment-laws/laws/435/denmark-investment-screening-act The U.S. and the EU have also created a mineral security partnership aiming at securing access to critical minerals and Greenland has been one of the first members. https://minexforum.com/2024/10/01/eu-and-us-welcome-new-members-to-the-minerals-security-partnership-msp/ -

Air traffic control is a “meritocracy,” says former FAA air traffic manager The air traffic control profession is a “meritocracy,” according to Michael McCormick, a former FAA air traffic manager and associate professor in air traffic management at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. “Only the best can go through the rigorous selection program, the screening program and then one-to-five-year training program prior to receiving their certification,” McCormick told CNN Friday morning. McCormick’s comments come after President Donald Trump blamed DEI policies for the collision. McCormick, who shut down New York City air traffic on 9/11, also said it was common practice for one air traffic controller to work two different tower positions. “In this instance, it was actually a good thing, because now you have one controller who’s actually talking to and controlling both of the aircraft,” he said. “Otherwise, if it was a separate controller, then the two controllers would have to constantly coordinate back and forth about what is happening and what they’re choosing to do.” Some context: At the time of the collision, one air traffic controller was working two different tower positions and handling both local and helicopter traffic, an air traffic control source told CNN. The New York Times reported that an internal preliminary Federal Aviation Administration report says staffing was “not normal for the time of day and volume of traffic.” Live updates: DC plane crash investigation continues as families mourn tragedy | CNN https://edition.cnn.com/webview/us/live-news/plane-crash-washington-dc-trump-01-31-25?adobe_mc=TS%3D1738350136|MCMID%3D72930993794519071334713548976840673148|MCORGID%3D7FF852E2556756057F000101%40AdobeOrg&iid=cnn-mobile-app&iid=cnn-mobile-app
