  1. while ideally it should work, current mac minis don't support 'daisy chaining' of monitors through thunderbolt port yet
  2. sorry, that was worded poorly, I mean offer the old owner some money to 'move out' this is usually called moving expense in eviction, yes, ideally you shouldn't need to pay anything to kick him out, but it might end up cheaper and saves time while being amicable
  3. there are other vices from alcohol to fornication available, you're not really practicing if you can't refrain from them all granted, practitioner like monks are supposed to avoid places of ilrepute or unwholesome situations, so walking along sukhumvit - nana at night is right out
  4. you can increase font size or zoom in and the sidebars go away too
  5. I think the old layout was better on lower width screens 1024 to 1366 pixels which many of us still have not talking about ads, but there are now topic previews on both side of the screen, the left under 'topics' and the right under each forums groupings, thankfully if you increases font size or zoom past 150% the left and right columns go away
  6. Did the lawyer suggest you offer 'cost of moving' for his inconvenience?
  7. court order and evictions are possible, but it requies cooperation of the police, how influential is the village headman with the local police? what's your standing within the community, even if sucessful can you build a house that's known as the ones who evicted the village head? if he really has nowhere to go, working something out like letting him rent/lease/usufruct his own house from you until his death would mean you get to keep this land
  8. did they smuggle it in the country through varioud bodily orifices?

  11. Klong Prapa now has concrete walls along its lenght now, I think it was only completed around the Covid so only recently, but I think it's to protect the water supply if the surrounding areas like muang thong floods, but by the time the surrounding area floods the water upstream of kong prapa woud have flooded long ago, maybe they can close the floodgate upstream and at least have a few weeks of tap water for Bangkok, or water from up north is not as bad as flood water that's been through the sewers in Bangkok
  12. I see lots of mutually beneficial relationship, many old codgers who might not be able to afford caregivers back home can dangle promise of western countries citizenship or inheritance and have the thai wife be caregiver
  13. while it's a villa, looks like it could be classed and titled as a condo due to it having common area like underground carpark to get the 49% foriegn quota, the rest probably has thai citizenship or company to snap up anyway suprised there arent' more project like this that has detached house titled as condo to attract foreign buyer
  14. The Bangkok canals levels has been getting lots of shares on social media https://weather.bangkok.go.th/klongmap
  15. raising the drain with pipes sounds like good idea, had heard of some rare case where blocking the drain with bags of water or capping it off leads to the pressure causing leaks in the drainpipes often underground where it's hard to reach and fix later
  16. technically no, officially from the bank - never, but the bank clerks especially the managers has a quota of insurance they needed to sell, or elst their performance will be in quesiton, so in case where their discretion in not looking too closely at certain documents or can waive certain requirements that prevent tourist from just walking in and opening accounts, so getting insurance from the do sweeten the deal.
  17. in places where there's monkey problem like temple, the parking attendant carry slingshot, and the act of just drawing them in shooting motion towards the problem monkey is enough, no need to actually shoot anything, maybe the odd stone every once in a while
  18. ไม่เก่ง is not good, might be able to complete the task but slower, incompetent would mean unable to achieve the task at all ไม่มีความสามารถ mai mee kwam samart as mentioned above is better "...does not have (the) ability" ไร้ความสามารถ rai kwamsamart is a more direct translation and of more serious tone "without ability"
  19. it's only in the US that it's e-sim only all other countries get sim tray plus e-sim, so you could have a number being physical sim and e-sim simultaneously
  20. on a podium that's fine, but in face to face meeting with other leaders?
  21. does Hypochondriasis counts as pre-existing condition?
  22. liquid, gels whatever, are you gonna argue that with airport security? plus wordings with most regulations is about container size, so even if you have visibly less than half of 200 ml bottles, you still can't take that on board, unless you empty it
  23. it's what's everybody gets on top of their salary for that month, hence usually a big party and funfare when they announce what the amount will be, mind y ou the lowest employee like cleaners might only get 9,000-11,000 baht per month only, and in the low season and low occupancy periods the figures won't be this high
  24. CNX airport used to be the worst when it comes to playing musical chairs with gates, often upto 3 gate change while you're sitting in front of the gate, often when there's delays and the needs to bump certain flights around
  25. there are plans for expansion with whole other duplicate 'south terminal' and satellite terminals, one of which was only just needed now, why should they build everything out decades ago?
