  1. from the video I saw, there were barriers on the correct side of the road, the lady choose to cross to the wrong side to cross the already down barrier
  2. Custom would want to see Thai FCC (NBTC) approval sticker or sign on the product, might not be there on the US model, you'll then be asked for import license for the device in question, while paying storage which your shipping agent will happily charge you, if the device does not operate on bands outside of the allowed range for Thailand, you might be issued a license and your device released to you, or if not it's confiscated and sold off in auctions as 'scraps' years later
  3. because necklace made of 99.99 purity gold would be easily snatched away from ones neck 24karat are sturdier but aren't preferred due to being associated with 'cheap'

  8. even if he has assets to sell, getting power of attorney from unconscious guy is not possible getting the guy declared incompetent and appointing the OP as his guardian is too complicated and opens up the opportunity of the hospital going after OP for the remainder of the cost accrued
  9. Thailand has 6 levels compulsory heirs called 'legitimate heir' from order of priority 1 child and Spouse 2 parents 3 siblings 4 half siblings 5 grand parents 6 uncle, aunts, the next level don't get their share until the above level has their share, so your sibling don't get your estate unless you don't have a surviving parent or child/spouse even if you put the grandchild in the will, the other in the legitimate heirs list can contest the will in court, eg, if you put the grandchild as the only receiver, the other relatives could contest this in court

  12. even here on this forum there're members who insist that agents 'convincing' the IO to not look too closely at the 800,000 seasoning in what appears to be a bank passbook is totally not a bribe

  14. Did you run a dedicated wall outlet for the 'emergency' charger to plug into when they installed the wall charger? of do you just plug the emergency charger into existing outlet? not a good way to find out if your existing outlet is up to standards
  15. alcohol is banned from roadside shops, as well as the usual time limits.... it's a strange world that cannabis is less restrictive than alcohol at the moment. the usual 'Buddhist' group that usually has their panties in a bunch crying anytime there's derestriction on alcohol in the discussion is surprisingly quiet on cannabis... some say the anti-alcohol group is in the pocket of Thailand's big beers company and only interested in keeping the status quo
  16. those that say covid is over and thais should stop wearing masks should not have any say in how the Chinese are coming, bringing in more covid, covid is harmless now right?
  17. It will work for now, but don't count on it working in the future, as the method to access online banking from another computer looks like you're being scammed, it's in the bank's interest to guard against that
  18. It will work for now, some people are already doing this the website can look what other program is running on the same computer, there are call centre scam that people were called and ask to install remote access software such as teamviewer and the scammer in india will access your bank account on your computer, for banks that guard against this could ask you to install protection software that will looks for this or use the bank's own app that will detect if it's being run on computer that has remote access If banks are proactive in protecting their user they could disallow remote access while using the online banking, some already do when using their app

  20. the annual book fair would beg to differ, with attendance from all over the nation with kids from out of town willingly travelling to Bangkok to buy the latest books, the breath and variety of book on offer if heartening but it is true that literacy and reading for pleasure are the preserve of the few, rather than many, pocket books costing half a day of minimum wage is not tenable, plus the local bookstore, even chain store ones are a dying breed
  21. There were a shortage of lea&perrins last year but it seems to have come back, only Branston pickle or piccalilli would be the difficult to find in all branches of the typical supermarket
