This is Paypal overinterpreting the rules again, earlier this year it was everyone in Thailand can't receive money on Paypal unless they had a business registration, after much complaining, the shut everything down and now this, which many Thais who had to get lawyered to get their business registered is now moot, but then another problem surfaces

unless it has delivery mileage that you can claim as a 'new' bike with supporting documents, you can't import it to Thailand
-
no, they were not denied return to their country, they were denied travel on a document that might not be valid for travel or a lack of supporting evidence that their travel document is valid. If a UK person were to turn up trying to exit Thailand on an empty brand new passport without entry stamps or visas and having no records of them ever entering the Kingdom on immigration's system, I'm sure they'd be denied boarding too
-
In europe they go with longer intervals, 15,000km or 9000miles but in the US they are often 5000 miles which works out to to only around 8000km in this weather and traffic, plus dirtier fuel I'd say it's just about right

Domestic Airline Travel must you do Online Check-in or not?
digbeth replied to MJCM's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
If you do the online check-in you won't have boarding pass printed from their machine, which, in some airports that only accept that, mean you can't just walk through the gate with only online check in accompanied by just boarding pass printed or on your phone -

Cost to import luxury cars in Thailand?
digbeth replied to dj230's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
yes, but only for no more than a month at a time, and no more than 60 days total in a year, bud judging by the amount of Laos and Cambodian plated cars at border town coming in for shopping, they probably don't enforce the limit too closely. but keeping a Lamborghini in Bangkok on Cambodian plate to skirt the import tax might -

avenue to import used vehicle as personal effect or any used vehicle at all is closed since 2019 I doubt for new vehicles that you can beat the many grey market importers with existing contacts and legwork that already bring in all kinds of exotic vehicles also while the import tax is 80%, other costs such as excise tax, shipping and handling clearing customs plus the margin for the importers makes it around 200-300% effectively -
mask vs no mask - feeling naked vs feeling awkward

There's no law mandating shirt wearing either, any business that refuses my entry for not wearing one will not get my money -

don't trust your car computer, unless you are doing full tank to full tank fill up then take the calculation of distance used against the litre filled -
How to auction our property
digbeth replied to FarAway's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Only time I see regular auction for property is from Bank/court ordered repossession, there's plenty of flippers ready to pay, do it up and sell it for profit, not sure if the banks/auctioneers will list your property for a fee though, at least there seem to be a stigma attached with auctioned property in Thailand, most are sold unseen condition At least talk with your local bank manager, most are always ready to find you a buyer for a commission -
Schengen visa for Thai GF of a Brit
digbeth replied to Mike Teavee's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
this is a double edged sword, having significant ties in the western countries mean there are means for her to stay and get jobs and not return to Thailand once her visa period is over this is dependent on her travel history and current employment/prospect in Thailand also be mindful of the length of queue to get visa processed in Bangkok -
if your mac has a disc drive for you to load the driver from, it's probably no longer supported

GrabBike Riders Seek Protection of Their Career
digbeth replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
they're unlicensed to carry passenger and therefore uninsured, but are they better than the local motorcycle taxi mafia? yes but the area they are operating is clearly illegal granted in order to get the yellow registration plate to carry passenger you need approval from the members of an existing rank, guess you'll have to pay the motocyc mafia to join them plus criminal background check, which judging by the tempers of many of these rider, they probably could not pass -

Tax for expats in Thailand?
digbeth replied to Sharklaser's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
If you want to contribute more than your fair shares, buy a nice imported car every once in a while there's a hefty tax on those, if you drink imported wines and such regularly that helps too -
you can't get plates/registration for them, there's no category of plate that it falls into even if you can 'convince' the lto to register it as farming vehicle, you can't take it on main roads so no insurance
-
not on an individual basis since at most you'll be quoted the same as last year without the no claims discount or denied a renewal, but never going up, you'll then can shop for other companies' insurance but yes, cost of new insurance for small car like toyota yaris insurance has been going up due to overwhelming frivolous claims like this

the fuel all comes from the same refineries in Thailand, is their additive worth the extra price? Shell has 2 formula, the really expensive V-Power and Fuelsave for the regular stuff compared to the standard Bangchak and PTT fuels I notice better milage in my diesel trucks, but I also got similar result with Esso's 'premium' plus diesel too
