  1. They actually do https://www.pea.co.th/en/Ft
  2. The curves from Ranong to Phang Nga just before Phuket is brilliant on a bike, but the rain out of nowhere does make it slippery, if you have the skill to enjoy long bike rides you should be fine. The road from Bangkok to Prachuab is pretty boring and full of trucks though
  3. Check if you can get the replacement filters easily Xiaomi is good for what they do, filters available on Shopee or Lazada from Thailand or China for cheap other Thai home-grown brands or some 'western' brands might be cheaper or more featured but filters are not readily available
  4. You'll have better luck paying with contactless (Visa/Mastercard EMV) already accepted at both MRT blue (Purple yet too?) and Red Lines as well as busses
  5. People who worries that toll dodgers will be using cloned plate with your number should also register as the process of registering mean submitting a photo of your vehicle from multiple angle, even if the cloned plate car is of the same make and model or even colour or your car, it's likely there will be other distinguishing points such as marks or dent that won't match, plus you get notified when 'your' plate went through the system, so it's best to register first, rather than find out later that someone's been using your plate when you get ticket or worse unable to renew your tax due to unpaid tickets years later
  6. When signing up, when it asks for your credit card, M-Pass/Easy pass is one of the option, if you have the card number you use to top up, that's enough
  7. you can also deduct the M-Flow charge from your easy pass or m-pass
  8. Many 'yellow' plate are faked too having seen yellow plastic transparent sheet on top of the plate secured with binder clips
  9. I used K Web's card back in 2010s and having fraudulent charge once, their chargeback procedure is more robust than straight debit card Options on debit cards that appear as credit cards for online purchase these days that I have personally used are true wecard, and shopeepay card
  10. I think it originate in China, if you are wearing pajamas in expensive neighborhood that means you can afford to live there and are in walking distance and are only out to grab something. But the Thais seem to get in their car, drive down to Lotuses or Big C in pajamas
  11. mileage in cost/kilometre might not work out cheaper some find their sweet spot with E20 or the regular E10 95 'Gasohol'
  12. Had account with HSBC, while they don't mind sending statements in the mail to Thailand, they said due to risks of fraud and such they won't send new cards or cheque books to Thailand
  13. If your pump pulses along with water pressure, that means you need to drain your pumps as it has water in the air chamber, if this is a repeated problem, might need to install check valve to prevent water flowing back into the pump and causing it again. Bigger separate pressure tank are also available if hearing pump turns on and off too often annoys you
  14. the place that photocopies always use back of other people's card, often the copier's own placed against the back of 'your' card also that way there's no usable sensitive information the back of the card 'laser id' no. is used to sign up to lots of Thai government stuff from filing tax returns and lots of KYC measure with finance apps
  15. Laptops with wifi? they gonna need to see your import licence and certificate of compliance to standards etc for the radio, power supply and all sorts of industrial standard, that while similar model might be sold in Thailand, or your exact model might even have the stamp of approval from Thai authorities already hidden somewhere on the laptop but without the paperwork, it's worthless importing it is not impossible but unlikely to be economical or probably ended up costing more than the value of the laptop Your best hope is to tell them to throw it away, and it might show up in auctions at the port later otherwise they'd keep charging you storage until yo pay up
  16. not really, if you batter it fresh, when you place it on the 'grill' the batter would just drips down from your squid if maybe you can fry it in oil initially to sort of 'sear' the batter together, then use the air fryer to finish the rest, it could remove so much oil and be more healthy, but then you're already using oil to fry frozen packaged stuff works, so if you batter and bread your squid/chicken and freeze them individually in a tray so that they don't stick together that could work
  17. If you disregard the Thai only rate, it's not a bad idea to promote accessibility to the local people and it's not just English, this applies equally to Russian and Chinese, and I remembered when Pattaya were full of those people on here were complaining that they have signs up everywhere other 'white' place like Quebec also requires public sign to be in French, is that racist too?
  18. All Thai signage is cheapest, like around 5 baht per 500sqare centimeters Bi-lingual with Thai above the foreign language is the middle ground of 20baht per 500sq cm, hence you'll see English sign with small Thai written above in the corner to qualify, otherwise the all foreign language sign is like 50 baht per 500sq cm
  19. even if you call from within Thailand, you get put on hold forever too, so it's nothing to do with being overseas
  20. some temples do build hospitals and school in their kratin fundraising, maybe the grandiose does get people's foot in the door, it's part of being organized religion after all it could give a sense of community, with everyone chipping in and all it could be argued that building temple supports the arts, at least employ the local labourer in their seasonal downtime but agree that in modern time, it's way too commercialized
  21. looks like they're out of business in Thailand, reported in the news that the last 2 location, Sukhumvit 22 and Pattaya will close its doors for good at the end of next month
  22. not when the elevetated motorway is way off, and with the pressure to return the lanes to usable condition due to traffic, overhead construction is going on above the right lane, the odd of having stuff dropped on your car is dangerously high
  23. If they left Russia with only Visa and Mastercard cards, issuing new Unionpay cards and getting replacement in Thailand's going to be a problem,
  24. if you have access to web server, you can send them a link to a picture, or documents, and when they visit that link, you can see the IP address that they are accessing from, and at least show their country, maybe location where they are accessing your links from, if they are not savvy, and with court orders, their internet provider can provide the account information say if your 'friend' is supposed to be in Europe, and you send them a link to your picture and you see they are opening it in Nigeria, that's a confirmation, modern email do guard against this somewhat, if you embed a picture in your email, and they're accessing it on gmail, it'll only show that someone from google accessed your picture, but you can send a link to say a document that they must click to download themselves this is why it's risky to open links or attachment from unknown source
  25. no, it was proposed, but not yet put into law
