Thailand’s sugar intake quadruples WHO daily limit causing health concerns

You should avoid artificial stuff too. There are some other natural sugars that are way better for you. Allulose is one but it is way more expensive than cane sugar. Same with monkfruit sugar. -
Thailand’s sugar intake quadruples WHO daily limit causing health concerns
rwill replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It isn't just sweets. The regular food contains a lot of sugar too. At our friends restaurant I saw them making Moo Krob one day. Before baking it they boiled it in a large vat of water. Before adding the pork belly they dumped in 5 bags of sugar into the water. Most restaurants also have sugar on the table to add to the food. I was checking out some fish sauce. A lot of it has sugar in it too. Around 2% sugar. I try and avoid sugar but I know when I eat out I am getting some. -
My Last Electric Bill, Ever!

I am currently having a house built. I do want solar. I would like to ultimately be basically off grid wth perhaps the PEA as a back up. I really don't have much of an idea how big of a system I would need for that. The house we live in now our consumption runs between 800-1500 units per month. But this is an old red brick house with no insulation at all. An interesting idea about using an EV as your battery backup. Also not too interested in selling power back to the grid as PEA limits you to 5Kwh for single phase. Also I saw Homepro now offers solar installation. They want about 780K baht for a 5kw system with 15kw battery backup. I'm guessing that is pretty expensive. Homepro Solar -
My Last Electric Bill, Ever!

LOL. It shows the pole with no meter on it and just the bare wires hanging there. The incoming power lines wrapped with a little electrical tape. According to the bills he shows he was being charged about 25 baht/month for no power consumption. -
Did you have any warranties from your builder? But anyway general stuff like cracking is usually covered for just the first year.

OMG. The wife and I have been married over 40 years now. We(she) currently own 2 properties. I have never worried about her stabbing me behind my back. Not every Thai woman is out to get you. If you married a good woman she will have your back covered.

You can look at the reviews on google maps for it. Mostly positive. But can you trust reviews in Thailand?

Lot's of people driving with no insurance, which means unregistered too. But the basic liability insurance required to register a vehicle only pays for medical, no property damage. However the limits on it are pretty low, thus the about 700 baht per year cost. 80K baht for injury, up to 500K baht for death or permanent disablity, 200 baht per day if hospitalized but no more than 20 days.

Most likely without seeing a video of the incident the driver of the vehicle was probably going the wrong way on the shoulder of the road. Which, as far as I can tell, Thai's don't consider to be part of the road. However after reading the linked article it isn't as described: " Nathan Jones, a friend and fellow Muay Thai fighter, launched a fundraiser to assist Kirk in his journey home. Jones recounted the horrifying details of the accident, emphasising Kirk’s innocence in the matter and the grievous extent of his injuries. “Tommy was only crawling along when another driver came flying through an intersection and wiped him out. More a story of someone running an intersection than driving on the wrong side of the road. And yes as has been mentioned the titles on a lot of the Thaiger linked articles are pretty rediculous. But that is Thaiger writers doing it. AN is just copying their articles.

That is what I am saying. I just do a regular retirement extension, no need for a wife. My wife did come with me and he called her up and asked for her ID and phone number. This has never happened before.

several years ago, 8 or so, the big stores would sell between those hours but you had to buy at least 12 liters or so. You could buy 15 of the big beer bottles. Also restaurants used to not be affected by those hours but it seems they started cracking down on that too. -

Lots of people lean out over them to get a better view around them. With the low railings once your torso is on the other side of the rail the majority of your wieght is on the wrong side. -
Not for a normal retirement visa. Nothing to do with marriage. I've never had to draw a map. What if my wife wasn't with me or I wasn't married? I also had given them a copy of the TM30. He said something about a lot of falang were giving addresses but didn't really stay there.

A couple of weeks ago I did my extension in Ratchaburi. Just a normal retirement extension with 800K in the bank. For the first time ever they also wanted to see my wife's Thai ID and get her phone number. Then he whips out a cellphone and asks for any place around where we live. So I gave him the name of the closest Wat. He hands the phone to me with google maps open on the Wat's location and asks me to show him where my house is.
