  1. There is no hell in true buddhism. Or perhaps you could say this existence is hell. One of the main tenants of buddhism is "life is suffering". The main goal is too stop being reborn and become one with the universe, in other words lose your identity as an individual.
  2. If you want to be a millionaire go to Loas and exchange a couple thousand baht.
  3. You don't need to be handsome if you have enough money.
  4. But will they stop trucks from being overloaded? Not only should they be fined when overloaded but they should stop the truck and have the company come out and remove the overload before allowing the truck to leave again.
  5. So he means it is not true yet.
  6. Isn't that called a promotion?
  7. Her husband is a senator appointed after the coup. Her father is an ex parliment member.
  8. Also if you have Thai bank accounts you will need to go in with your passports and have them change to the new passport number.
  9. I've had really bad tinnitus for decades now. They never have been able to do anything to help it. Too many concerts I guess. There must be tons of Thais with it judging how they love to blare distorted music for kilometers at wats and festivals.
  10. It is very difficult to eat out in Thailand without getting some sugar. Thai's love sweet stuff. I have cut way back on eating rice, bread, potatoes, sugar, etc.. (also do intermittent fasting). I wouldn't say I am on a strict Keto diet. Before I was taking 1000Mg of metformim a day and my A1C was around 6.2 to 6.5. After a couple of months on the new diet and stopping all my medications my A1C is now 5.4.
  11. I mistakenly bought a whole house RO system. I used it for less than a month. To fill one tank of water you had to throw about 7 tanks of water down the drain.
  12. My Wife does LOL. My wife too. Way more than I would. But she lived in America for over 40 years too.
  13. He did post in the Chiang Mai forum though.
  14. I put some of the bird spikes on top of the beams in my carport. The birds do make nests in them. I need to put a ceiling on it to keep the birds from nesting/pooping over the cars.
  15. Why do you need to show the bank 2 photo ID's?
  16. It seems they can't even afford a 10 baht bulb for their rear lights let alone a helmet.
  17. Taking probiotics can help. My wife has bad gerd. They helped her to be able to stop taking medication. You need stomache acid you shouldn't stop it. She also drinks curmamax as needed. You can find it on Lazada.
  18. Some Wats have markets. Close to shopping. Even if you don't live close to the wat lots of them put speakers a few kilometers away to make sure everyone knows something is going on at the wat. I don't mind the chanting. But when they are blaring music for festivals with overly distorted bass that rattles walls for kilometers around it gets really annoying.
  19. I wonder if the police checked when they had bought their alcohol?
  20. The free policy they give you with a new vehicle are the more expensive ones. Depending on the vehicle you get can cost you over 20K to renew the next year. The dealers have people that will call you when it is time to renew to sell you a new policy.
  21. His story does not make sense. He says the loan shark approached him but he was the one that went to the loan sharks house. Sounds pretty premeditated to me.
  22. Always have your finger on the trigger when unloading a gun. Safety first.
  23. My wife flew back into Thailand from the US on 8 Aug. She went to the Thai nationals lines but mistakenly handed them her US passport instead of Thai passport and the officer stamped her in with a 30 day visa exempt entry. So last weekend we flew to Laos with her exiting with her US passport and using her Thai passport the rest of the way. Upon reentry at Don Muang the officer was giving her some hassle for not having an exit stamp in her Thai passport. She explained what happened but the officer still seemed confused. Finally another officer(supervisor?) came over and said there was no problem with that. So she stamped my wifes Thai passport but put a little handwritten note below it that she had left using a US passport.
  24. The small town I live in the PEA office's sign says they have an EV charging station. Perhaps look and see if your local office has one too.
