OP, you need to give more details for anyone to advise.

You have posted and reposted your experience opening a bank account. Several have pointed out insurance is NOT a requirement. Attached is just one of many where insurance is mentioned. This one is Pattaya specific. Suggest you read up in banking/finance forum or search threads on insurance. Yes often banks will mention insurance. It's a sales pitch. Your posts are incorrect information. https://aseannow.com/topic/1288655-opening-a-bangkok-bank-account/

There are many solutions for the OP. I mentioned agent in earlier post. If the OP want to continue with based on retirement he could do a border bounce without a reentry permit to "kill off" his non O. Reenter visa exempt and obtain a new non O retirement and using TM87 then obtain subsequent extension.

Yes. There were some refuse entry at DMK (in particular) during 2019. Prior to covid. You will be fine at Bangkok airports. Prior to covid I was flying out/back Thailand every month for several years. Not a issue as I had annual extensions retirement with reentry permit. However on some rare occasions I saw immigration question folk with stays based on SETV and visa exempt with history. A tip is to make up a fictional itinerary. Outlining your plans. Sounds ridiculous but for some reason seems to be good option. Even with a tourist visa have funds with your person.

Extension of Stay just after trip abroad.
DrJack54 replied to edwinchester's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, which immigration office. Some allow you apply for extension 45 days prior to expiry. If you prefer to do the extension after return (safest idea) you buy a reentry permit. Can be obtained at immigration office or airport at departure. -
Ridiculous post. If you have "limited funds" you do not move to a foreign country. Then have an illness or accident and start a GoFundMe. Too many pauper farang in Thailand.

Indeed. Another option for OP is to exit Thailand without a reentry permit. OP you won't be fined overstay at departure. The io at departure may point out that you do not have a reentry permit. Just answer that you are aware of that. Return visa exempt and start over with a conversion to new non O retirement or marriage. Messy but an option

Non-O visa (Retirement purpose)
DrJack54 replied to zenplay's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Both rogue offices. Your two examples are irrelevant. Immigration offices sometimes do rubbish As they did in your examples. There are approx 75 immigration offices in Thailand. Show me this behavior in more than 2 -
Non-O visa (Retirement purpose)
DrJack54 replied to zenplay's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your post is weird from start to finish. Once application for a non O from visa exempt entry is made then under consideration period kicks in. The current permission of stay becomes irrelevant. You also state immigration kept your passport. Please show me ONE post of immigration taking someone's passport and holding for 2 weeks. Did you use an agent
