Your post should read ..... ",and NOTHING like as you are making out"

Thinking you would need to be pretty desperate. Bangkok airways are generally expensive. Obtaining a tourist visa in PP best suited to using an agent (not essential) Personally I'm thinking the border bounce and obtaining an overnight tourist visa won't really be an option until a land border opens. Laos would be great option if/when. When that happens is anyone's guess.

Most agent assisted visas (non O) and extensions are not obtained at immigration where you live. That has been discussed at length in many threads. If that doesn't sit well with you then as they say ....up to you. In that case forget about using an agent.

Covid-19 extension query
DrJack54 replied to Eugen63's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Apply before Nov 27 and your 60 day covid extension with start from Dec 13 Personally I would go couple of days prior to 27th. Immigration will be busy in last days prior to Nov 27 -
2 Qs for extension of Non-OA
DrJack54 replied to Lim Yuan Hai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
After extension granted the 800k remains in bank for 3 months (minimum) then can decrease to 400k (never below that amount) Then back up to 800k two months prior to the day of your next extension. Then repeat that cycle for ongoing extensions -
So Sunday 14 now. I'm also interested in the bars in Day Night etc. Zan Zee bar Also Sports Bar. Why aren't these open? Or in fact are they.

Desperate Situation During Pandemic
DrJack54 replied to JaydenL's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Which visa would you suggest. -
What you outline would work but certainly a last resort option. The OP hasn't given much information. When his current extension expires. Is he on reasonable terms with current wife. OP only states "planning divorce" Couple of simple options available that certainly do not involve exit Thailand. These threads posted for "a friend of mine....." Always like extracting teeth.

USA visa exempt.. Was it ever 90 days
DrJack54 replied to LivinLOS's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Strange with USA not able to obtain visa exempt entry to Vietnam (mind you neither can AU), but they are the only country that I'm aware of whose citizens can obtain a 12 month multi entry permit to that country. Weird. -
Thinking divorce or divorce proceedings?. However as I mentioned in early post, if the current wife is cooperative then he could easily "see out" this current extension and prior to it's expiry attend immigration for new extension based on retirement. In that situation (as I understand it) good idea (maybe even necessary?) to attend with wife to support reason for change to retirement. That would give the couple time to complete divorce and when complete has zero effect on his extension based on retirement. All depends on situation with current wife.

Desperate Situation During Pandemic
DrJack54 replied to JaydenL's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Calm down OP easy to say when your stressed. However you can obtain another covid extension and hopefully another late January. That will give you time to consider next steps. Also at some point borders will open. You are entitled to a covid extension even if you have had some previously. -
Nobody has inside knowledge. Think for some feeling that it's pretty much a sure thing is that land borders are currently closed. Situation in the region example Vietnam (yes not a land border) is currently having worse numbers that Thailand. Seriously I will be shocked if covid extensions are not extended after Nov 27. Keep in mind that the io might want you (suggest) to obtain extension based on marriage.

800k for O visa retirement extension renewal?
DrJack54 replied to SunsetT's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
First extension or 10th extension. Two months prior to day of application for extension. -
800k for O visa retirement extension renewal?
DrJack54 replied to SunsetT's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
2 months prior to day you apply for extension. -
Reentry permit has nothing to do with it.
-
OP, your very confused. The ME (marriage) that you previously obtained from Laos is completely different animal to non O with 12 month extension. Even if you buy a multi reentry for that extension. Your permission of stay that you have in your passport will need to be extended prior to expiry. Exiting and re-entering Thailand just prior to expiry will not increase your current date. Best to think of 90 day report as having nothing to do with your extension. They are required when your about to have been in Thailand for 90 continuous days. If you at any point exit and reenter your 90 day report clock starts again.
-
Might be your best solution but often not for those trying to give advice. One example is statement..."I have a retirement visa". Might mean a non O-A that is still valid.. Could mean have retired in Thailand and are on extensions of stay. etc etc. Most giving advice cut slack and overlook it. Sometimes it requires clarification.

Extension retirement at CW report.
DrJack54 replied to DrJack54's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Exactly. One of the nice benefits of using CW is that most banks have branch there (note not SCB). Sit with clerk they know exactly what you want. A deposit and then bank letter. The balances then match and ask clerk to photocopy this last page of bankbook and put that with your copy of account page and any transaction pages. Job done. Note don't waste time going to teller first for deposit. The lady doing your letter does the whole process. -
Not really the point. If you can do 90 report online then fine. However you require TM6 for many interactions with immigration as listed in thread. Regarding online reporting MANY folk do not have online option. In addition the online system has crashes in the past and some not brief.
-
That would be news to me. TM6 is required. With covid on the scene, I last entered Thailand on 16/03/2020. With reentry permit. Naturally I was given the TM6 stub after the io took the arrival part of the card. Since then I have done extensions and obtained certificate of residence to obtain Thai DL and other things not to mention 90 day reports. ALL required TM6.
