Try drinking water steadily and continuously. By the seventh swallow your hiccups should have ceased.

100% correct on UK NHS. When my Mum was dying of cancer I had to call a 'GoToDoc' (out of hours mobile GP). He told me; 'Don't put your Mum in ..... hospital. They killed my grandmother'. Unfortunately, I had no choice. I saw nurses doing things then hearing them being told; 'Try reading the patient's notes'. The standard answer was; 'I've only just arrived upon this ward, haven't got time'.

Compensated/renumerated blood and plasma donation
The Fugitive replied to TeacherJane's topic in Health and Medicine
You're not wrong! After eating our noodles in a local restaurant my Mrs asked for the 'checkbin'. Proprietor said; 'No need, the Prefect who was in the corner paid your bill. Something about me being the only falang blood donor in his town'. Made me feel proud yet humble too. -
Compensated/renumerated blood and plasma donation

Many thanks for posting. Definitely need more donors! Helpful information although it does seem to depend upon where you go and to whom you speak on the day of donation (TIT). I donated whole blood for the first time in Thailand at age 63. The Red Cross took my word that I had previously been a regular donor in UK. I answered the questionnaire truthfully about my residence between 1980 and 1996 yet was still accepted. The conditions state that donors aged between 65 and 70 cannot donate at mobile collection sessions. However, they continue to be pleased to see me at my local mobile sessions. A donor attendant asks me; 'Are you normally in good health?'. My positive response seems good enough! -
Interesting case. Jailed for three years for inciting racial hatred. I'm surprised the police published the photograph of the guy's room. As far as I know, display of Nazi regalia is NOT prohibited in UK even outside your own house? https://www.derbyshire.police.uk/news/derbyshire/news/news/north/2023/august/high-peak-man-sentenced-after-posting-extreme-racist-messages-online/

Scottish woman’s cliff plunge in Thailand sparks insurance debacle
The Fugitive replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Members of my Thai family have received bills from our local community hospital after receiving treatment for injuries caused when they came off their moto's. They had neither riding licences nor insurance. Fortunately, no other road users were injured. I understand this is normal as National Heath Service's elsewhere will not provide 'free' treatment for road traffic injuries. This being what motor insurance is for. -
Scottish woman’s cliff plunge in Thailand sparks insurance debacle

That's my fear. Ordered to pay their hospital bill which includes prolonged I.T.U. care, brain surgery, rehabilitation then care for the rest of their lives. Compensation for injuries caused ontop. -
A friend of my Mrs died locally. Her favourite temple was under construction, the crematorium not yet complete. As the lady had insisted no other temple would do, the monks built an open air bonfire with the timber and placed her casket ontop. Looked rather nice the way they had done it.

Scottish woman’s cliff plunge in Thailand sparks insurance debacle

Interesting. I've always opted to exclude such (especially luggage). I have, of course, experienced flight delays/cancellations usually with missed connections as a result. Airports have always rerouted me without any arguments. Hold luggage once failed to appear on the carousel belt but was delivered to me totally intact by van driver less than 24 hours later. -
Leila Khaled in 1969 made me aware of the Palestinian issue. The murder by Mossad of Ghassan Kanafani and his niece in 1972. Israel didn't accept Brazil's 1980 refusal to allow extradition of a German so they murdered him. Bombing of Iraq in 1981 to destroy Osirak nuclear reactor. Whole lot more, of course. Israel has previously boasted about killing ten Palestinians for each Israeli. Netanyahu has stated nobody will stop Israel attacking Palestinian's. Not even the International Court of Justice. He believes an Israeli ceasefire would be surrendering to Hamas. Not only unbelievably arrogant but mad too.

Already been mentioned that cameras won't prevent burglars getting in. Increasing visibility is more important. Railings instead of solid garden walls and bright exterior lighting would help. Lockable gates over doors and grills over windows are good visual deterrents. Maybe a few timers to switch lights on and off when you're away?

Pink Id card for foreigners
The Fugitive replied to Enquiry123's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Frustrating. Probably could be remedied in a moment and a new card issued if you got the right person on the right day. However, as you say, easier to let it go not knowing what further details they might require. -

Wow! The plot thickens! Do I need one of those too? They love copying documents, as you say. The Amphur even took a copy of my Thai blood donation record card. -

When those of us who had no Yellow Book/Pink Card requested Covid jabs, didn't they generate 13 digit numbers? Were/are those details available to both NHS and Amphur's?
