If I need to take a very long flight I always book flights which depart very late night / very early morning (if available). I always sleep well. If it's a day time flight cannot sleep at all.

Ex-Senator: PM Must Resolve Golf Course Land Dispute
scorecard replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Sanoh Tiengthong, scaly politician for several decades, chameleon as needed to get the 'best deals' also very involved in the Alpine saga. Sanoh well known to be very corrupt got himself into various high ranking jobs / positions then had laws changed or changed the laws himself to gain massive personal benefits. -
Years back I stayed in many hotels / many cities / many countries while travelling for work. In those days some hotels would say that beer cans / bottles that they had put in the mini-fridge were marked/stamped/coded whatever. If I wanted to drink I would take all the beer cans out of the hotel mini-fridge and hide them in my suitcase, and fill the mini-fridge with cans brought in secretly from 7/11. All easy. Then at an appropriate time (before daily cleaning / re-stocking) remove the 7/11 beer into my suitcase and return the hotel beer to the mini fridge. Easy and quick.

Yes there is a sales commission, for SELLING THE PROPERTY (often 3%, sometimes 5% of the agreed sale / purchase price) for: finding a prospective buyer and arranging for the prospective buyer to inspect the property / meet the seller / discuss and agree the sale/purchase price, agree which party pays the LTO charges etc. That all happens outside of / separate to / before any charges at the LTO.

Attorney General Declines Action on Thaksin Case

Hope that suit is waterproof, could get very wet when playing with grand children in wading pool. -
I add further, don't fall for the old trick of being told by a Thai lawyer(s) that local Thai folks / foreigners are not allowed to do the 'transaction' at a Land Title Office (LTO), must be done by a qualified Thai lawyer, officially pre-registered at the LTO. I know that locals / foreigners can do the transaction without a lawyer: 1. The Pattaya LTO tried this when my company bought a house and land property in Sth Pattaya. My own long term well respected lawyer in Bkk (respected by several snr ministers), challenged this and the Pattaya LTO backed down. My Bkk lawyer sent a junior qualified lawyer from his office to 'observe' the transaction at the Pattaya LTO. The junior lawyer (not afraid to speak up) insisted on giving a letter, from my Bkk lawyer, to the Pattaya snr. LTO officer explaining he was there to observe that the transaction was conducted according to the law. The snr Pattaya LTO guy was shocked and frightened by the letter and did ensure all was done according to the law and regulations. Snr. Snr. Pattaya LTO officer then tried to give the junior lawyer several gifts to pass to my lawyer in Bkk. Junior lawyer refused to accept the gifts. 2. I bought a condo in Phaya Thai area of Bkk. The seller asked me to accompany him to the LTO for the transfer of owners name on the chanut. I requested that my Thai adult well educated / experienced son accompany us. Seller agreed. At the LTO everything was done according to the law and the regulations. My Thai son did some research before we went to the LTO and politely asked several questions. On arrival at the LTO the staff welcomed me politely and asked if I had any questions. All questions from my son received with good attitude and all answered in detail. Son satisfied. No request whatever for 'gifts'.

What does tht 45,000Baht cover: - The personal fee to the lawyer for: Helping with getting the documentation correct? Checking that the chanut is in order including checking that the current name on the back of the chanut is the person selling? Checking there's no other encumbrances on the chanut E.g. a bank or a finance company who are using the chanut as a security for a loan. The official fees payable to the Lands Titles Office (LTO). Any other fees: e.g. personal 'gratuity' (corruption) to the senior officer at the LTO for which there is no receipt?

You mean islam. Overboard Christian zealots are almost as bad. I'm aware of a case in Chiang Mai about 5 years ago where visiting Christian missionaries on holidays from California 'kidnapped' 2 Thai girls and took them about 2 km away and bombarded them with 'jesus will save you stuff but you must give up Buddhism'. The Thai family (buddhist) very balanced, very happy, good income good education for the kids, were alerted by other foreigners tht the girls had disappeared from a park, parents called the police, the girls were found and the missionaries charged, fined and deported. It happens. My Thai son initially had difficulties with the parents of the Thai lady he was about to marry. Son's gf has a full on loud lady boy brother who demanded that I never be allowed to visit any of their homes because' All farang are Christian and therefore very dangerous and a farang in the family will bring continuous had luck.

Point taken. However I believe most posters here know the name of the errant poster and my posting more won't change that scenario. On the other hand I'm disappointed that the mods won't take some action; to perhaps get a little more info (and I don't expect them to do a serious professional investigation). It's not just my opinion, his comment is false / dangerous information and his comment can be proven to be false / dangerous by checking the DVA website). Seems to me that posters should not be allowed to post false / damaging comment and reported errant poster should be informed that further similar complaints / reports could mean the errant poster blocked from Asean Now for a week or similar. I do fully recognize / respect that it's not appropriate for me to tell Asean Now / the mods how to run the website. I'll not be posting again on this matter.

Let me please make a further comment. My initial enquiry (of the mods) was not meaning that I WANT THE PERSONAL POWER TO BLOCK MEMBERS. That was not my request, not at all. It would absolutely not be appropriate. I repeat my initial post, as follows: "A new question: If he writes that I made statements in regard to important policies of the Australian Department of Veterans Affairs (The DVA) which I in fact didn't make (I have had serious very detailed dealings with the DVA in regard to my personal war disabilities) can I ask for him to be reprimanded in some way? As above my concern is members submitting posts which contain comments which are completely incorrect re the policies of the Australian DVA. (In fact the poster submitted a comment / statement which is the reverse of the actual policies of the DVA, which are easily accessible on the DVA website). My real / ultimate concern is that a war veteran may read the posters comment and assume he / she has no entitlement to receiving a permanent compensation transferred abroad every 4 weeks for a disability suffered in a war zone, when in fact that war veterans (if the DVA accept the disability as being caused in a war zone) is payable as a permanent disability compensation payment by a 4 weekly international banks transfer to any country in the world. This could mean the incorrect information posted by the errant member means that a war veteran is not receiving an entitled disability compensation payment for life. Surely this is very unfair and very unethical, and it's a serious matter. I know that if the DVA accept the disability as being caused in a war zone) is payable by a 4 weekly international banks transfer to any country in the world because I have been receiving an Australian war veterans disability compensation payment every 4 weeks into my K Bank Thailand savings account for many years. My message to the mods is really asking whether in a situation as above Asean Now has any policy to sanction the errant poster involved?

Thaksin Delivers First Speech in 18 Years, Denies Interfering with PM
scorecard replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
QUOTE FROM ABOVE: "Thaksin denied any interference in Ing’s political decisions, describing his approach as respectful of her independence. Instead, he focuses on providing guidance and support." What does that mean? 'interference', political decisions', independence', guidance', 'support' Is that clear? NO! -
Nine British tourists arrested for reckless driving in Phuket
scorecard replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Agree. Further, they are visitors to the LOS, seems obvious they would know what polite / appropriate behaviors and what boundaries exist when in another country. And most folks (with even a little common sense) would have some thinking that they don't know what punishments might occur for stupid behaviors, so best to behave. -
